Forums are open to anyone aged 20-45 who has been diagnosed with primary breast cancer within the last three years. Are there any plans to hold an event in Manchester? I attended last years and it was brilliant. One of the advantages of holding an event ‘locally’ means that the wonderful ladies I met at the forum, I’m still able to meet now for advise, catch-ups, friendship etc.
And to any lady thinking about attending one of these events, you must! The theoretical and emotional support it provides, together with the opportunity to speak with ladies who know exactly what you’re going through is invaluable.
All the best for the already planned events BCC team and thank you for giving me/us this lifeline
Thank you for posting such a lovely comment. Just so you know we have booked in all the forums till March 2013. We do try to move forums to different locations giving as many people as possible the opportunity to attend. However I wanted to mention that women can attend any forum regardless of where they live.
Hi, can I ask why the east of England is still being neglected?
There doesn’t seem to be anything this way (I am based near Cambridge).
I will try and book on the London one. How do I go about doing that?
Thanks,
Rachael

We hold six forums a year and do try to ensure they are spaced out around the country to make them as accessible to as many women as possible; we also talk to and work with breast care nurses to decide the best areas to hold the forums.
We do appreciate this can often mean for some it is still a long journey and we do offer overnight accommodation the evening prior to the forum for anyone who has to travel for more than two hours to ensure this isn’t a barrier for anyone attending.
We are currently planning a one day forum in London on Saturday 2nd March if you are interested in this or any of the forums please do give us a call on 0845 077 1893 or email youngerwomen@breastcancercare.org.uk
Hi,
Are there are more dates planned for 2013 / 2014. I was wondering why the London event wasnt a 2 day meet like the others, as i am sure ladies would find the 2 days beneficial.
Thanks,
Rachael
Thank you for your interest in the Younger Women’s Forums.
We do hold six two day forums a year and held one in london in May - in addition we also hold a one day forum as this enables women who are unable to attend for two days/stay overnight the opportunity to benefit from the forum.
We will have dates for 2013/2014 in the next few weeks.
Please don’t hesitate in contacting me if you have queries.
Thanks for letting me know. It would be great if we could have a 2 day forum in London. Is there any way of extending the current scheduled one? If not thats fine - i would rather come to a 1 day forum than nothing at all. But i would much prefer to attend for 2 days.
I’ll watch this space
