Hi Everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post, but here goes… I’ve recently found some swelling under my right armpit, went to the doctors last week and she examined my breasts and didn’t say if she could feel anything or not (I was stressing that much I forgot to ask!), she did however say she could feel the swelling. Anyway she put me on some antibiotics which don’t seem to have done much good.
The swelling is still there (although it does seem to come and go), and I can only describe the feeling as an ache all around my armpit, my shoulder and down my arm. Also from time to time my neck glands feel swollen on the same side.
She has referred me to a breast clinic, and I’m so scared at what they might find. I’m so sorry to post on here as I feel I shouldn’t be so worried when other people are going through terrible times. But would love to here back from people if they’ve maybe gone through similar sypmtoms?? Thank you

I havent had the same symptoms but i can see why your Dr thinks it may be an infection.The fact that your symptoms come and go would suggest that.Howerver i think its a good thing that she has also referred you to a breast clinic so you can get a proper and thorough check up.Just because she has referred you doesnt mean that she definitely thinks it is cancer so please do your best not to worry unduly.I know from experience that is easier said than done though!

you’ve done the right thing and initiated investigations. Waiting is the hardest part, but you’ll get huge amounts of support on here. Thinking of you, let us know how you get on.
Thanks for your replies and support. I got my letter yesterday but my appointment isn’t until 20th November, I can’t believe I will have to wait that long. I recently moved to Southern Ireland, where I have to pay for healthcare, and this just seems ridiculous.
Anyway, I’ve finished taking the antibiotics now and the swelling has definitely gone down, but is still there slightly. My breasts feel tender as do the surrounding areas, but I don’t know if this is because I’ve proded myself so much recently in a panic. To be honest I don’t know whats real and whats not anymore as I’ve scared myself that much.
Don’t know what to say apart from I’m thinking of you and fingers crossed that it turns out ok. I’ve hated the waiting I’ve had to endure and feel for you. x
Hiya- I know how you are feeling . I went to the doc last week after finding a new lump. I have a history of cysts. He thinks this is calcification that has attached itself to the lunp. The old lump also seems to have changed. The wait for an appointment is hell, Like you i feel a bit weord posting as i dont know anything . However by reading all the supportive posts i know people understand. Ive not told anyone so cant talk about it. Ive waited over a week so far.Nice to know im not alone
