Thank you. I may invest in the book and have a look for the Facebook group although there seems to be a lot of groups! I’m wavering between trying to learn as much as possible and then being terrified when I read at the moment. I have a CT scan and another meeting this week and am impatient for them both this last week of waiting seems to have gone on forever.
I completely understand and it was some time after my diagnosis that I felt ready to learn more. I’d recommend the Triple Negative Breast Cancer UK and Ireland ( TNBC) Support FB Group. Some of the American ones are just a bit bonkers and also quite religion heavy which I found a bit off putting. The UK one is really supportive and informative and totally not terrifying. Good luck with your scan xx
Hi there. I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I was diagnosed with triple negative in November 2023 at 44. I am now cancer free so wanted to share my positive result.
I was told it was grade 3 and my interpretation was that meant it would be a bit stubborn!
I had chemo and immunotherapy. Then a lumpectomy and radiotherapy. At my first review after the first cycle of chemo/immunotherapy they could already say it was responding because the lump was smaller. That was a great boost. But I would say take each stage, even each day, one at a time. It’s tough going but try and hold onto the positives. But also good to have someone who you can have a good moan about it all with - or use this forum. All the best with your treatment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share your journey with me May1. I had my CT scan this morning and have my next appointment tomorrow. Like you say I need to think about just one day at a time instead of letting my brain race to the future it’s hard though as just keep thinking about my husband and kids etc but really needed to read this today and huge congratulations
on being cancer free x
