Glad your op went well Pam and your back home. Make sure you get lots of rest xx hope everyone else is doing ok xx
Thanks for the tips Pam ā¦ Hope the DN was able to give you some medication to help with the pain. How long do you have to wait for your follow up appointment is it about two weeks xx
Morning ladies
Hope everyone is doing ok. I have my third t this week then one more to go. How are you feeling now pam are you healing well after your surgery ? Xx
Hi everyone, recently diagnosed with TNBC and had a mastectomy and SNB. Abnormal cells in one of two nodes, so scheduled for clearance on Thursday. This is a new primary for me. Had mastectomy for ER+ tumour 6 1/2 years ago, followed by chemo. Thought we were now in the clear but not to be. Wonāt know what treatment Iām having until after this next op. Bit scary, but know that chemo is the best option.
Hi Jackie
Sorry you have got to go through this a second time. I was diagnosed with tn in October . I have to have 8 cycles of fec d, masectomy and then rads. Iāve got two more chemo cycles to go. Having my treatment at university hospital in Stoke ā¦ Not nice but doable. Hope your surgery goes well on Thursday . Big hugs xx
Hi pam
I thought I had one big lump but apparently I have some little ones as well ā¦ I think thatās why they doing a masectomy . Mri scan showed no lymph nodes involved but they said they can never be sure until op. Xx
Hi everyone
Hope your op goes well tomorrow Jackie and also for you on Saturday teacher 39. Hope you are doing ok as well pam and healing well.
Harriet Iām due to have my third t tomorrow if bloods ok. Iāve had 4 fec already and itās planned for me to have 4 t. I was dreading t but overall have found it better than the fec. I did the cold mits for hands and feet plus black nail varnish. No pins and needles so far and although nails a bit sore they are still on. The mouthwash worked well for sore mouth. I have felt a bit more tired but itās doable. Have you had surgery yet? Xx
Home from hospital, not feeling too bad Being looked after by my lovely OH. Will start my exercises in the morning. Hope everyone else doing well
I was originally diagnosed with DCIS in December after a routine mammogram. I had a WLE on the 26 January. No nodes because it was early stage. When I got my results the surgeon said they removed 20mm of high grade DCIS. However they also found 4mm invasive grade 3 ductal carcinoma so they decided they should carry out sentinel lymph node biopsy. Two nodes were removed. When I went to see the surgeon for the results she was very pleased to tell me that the nodes proved negative. She advised me that I would not need any follow up drugs but I would need 15 sessions of radiotherapy. She said that I would hear from the oncologist with a date to discuss this, which I have and Iāve got an appointment on the 16 April. Today I received a copy of the letter the surgeon wrote to my doctor where she has stated that the invasive cancer is TRIPLE NEGATIVE. This is obviously the first I knew about this and I feel quite angry and upset that no one has mentioned it to me. I have been so positive all the way through this and Iāve not really been too worried about it at all, but having read about triple negative now Iām not so sure.
Hi RuthieG, although I had ER+ BC and not triple neg, my oncologist insisted on discussing chemo options with me when I met with him, even though my surgeon and BC nurse had both told me that I was only to have rads, I was given all the info from my oncologist and I decided to go along the chemo route and Iāve never regretted that decision. You may find this to be the case, although I must stress that my cancer was lobular and 37mm, while yours is obviously at a much earlier stage. Take care and let us know how you go. X x
I also had chemo first, then surgery and waiting for rads. I think I needed chemo first as I had node involvement and it was31mm so much larger than yours.
Do ask for this discussion re the benefits of chemo and let them know how you feel.
I knew mine was TN as the U.S. biopsy they took a piece for examining prior to starting agin treatment. Sounds like your diagnosis was post surgery.

Jackie - howās it going post surgery?

Teacher-39, hope op goes well. You mdu need help the first week as I couldnāt get in or out of bed. And ensure you keep bowels running well as some of the drugs bibs you up. Get some pain killers in as well and start the exercises next day.
Good luck.

Hi
Ā
I donāt technically count as triple neg as 22 years ago they didnāt even have a HER2 test to make triple testing but I didnāt have any hormone treatment so have guessed I was at least ER-.
Ā
I was told nothing of size, grade or actual chemos used in treatment but I do know I had 3/8 lymph infected from a random sample. I had wle, radio, chemo.
Ā
After 22 years I thought I had put all this behind me but have just been diagnosed with a new primary. Stage 1, grade 1, ER+, HER2- so I know I am a pretty good, bad place this time round.
But I guess I would have classed as triple neg all those years ago. I have requested another 22 years please.
Ā
Best wishes to you all and it can be done :):
Thanks, the DCIS was 20mm and the invasive cancer was 4mm. I will wait and see what the oncologist has to say when I meet with him. Iāll let you know how I get on.
Hope you go on ok today pam xx hoping everyone else is feeling ok xx
Just had a call from my breast care nurse, results are in from clearance. One more lower level node with micro traces of cancer so will need chemo. Clinic on Wednesday to discuss further treatment. Relieved that it has not spread further.
Hope the rest of you are doing well xx
Yes Jackie let us know your plan. The chemo is doable , a few ladies I know worked through it. I didnāt work as I had a few ses but like pam said there are lots of medication available such as emend to help. Iāve not long had cycle 7 have one more to go. Hope you are going on ok pam ? Have you finished your treatment now or are you having rads xx
Hope your rads meeting goes well today Pam.
Hoping everyone else is doing ok. Iām off to see onc later then last t next Wednesday if bloods ok xx
