Newly Diagnosed

Hello everyone.  As title, newly diagnosed, had mammogram/scan nine days ago, biopsied straightaway, given an appointment for a week later (two days ago), when I saw a consultant who confirmed I had breast cancer, was introduced to my care nurse whom I saw again today (and who recommended I register on here) and will be seeing my consultant again next Wednesday, very impressed with the speed at which the NHS has moved (although, in some ways, that actually makes it a little more scary, if you see what I mean).  Surgery date hasn’t yet been confirmed, but I’ve been told probably four weeks’ time.

I agree - I have also been impressed with the speed. I’m 10 days post the initial mammogram and have had the follow up appointment, further mammogram, ultrasound & biopsy. Expecting results next Weds, which is only 2 weeks after the initial mammogram. Have met the breast care nurse and will see her again on Weds. The speed is really scary but also impressive. Our local NHS Trust has had a lot of knocking over the past few years, but I have to say, they’ve been brilliant so far. Good luck with the surgery x
