Next Bristol Meet-up

Sorry, I wish they were in their 30s sometimes, but they’re actually only 11 and 13 :frowning:

Good luck with your MRI on Tuesday

Hello ladies,

I’m due for my next treatment on the 25th in Bristol Onc at 11.15 so I’ll be feeling crap after so I’ll be heading straight home after. On the matter of the next meet up in Bristol, I’m probably being stupid but I’ve lost track of the date. Could someone confirm when it is. Thanks, Sea

Well waddyaknow - I shall be having my herceptin there too - I usually go in the small area - which is quieter and less like a milking parlour - hope to see you there Sea.

Hi All,

Hi

I agree it went really quickly, especially considering the length of time we were in there. I’m still feeling ropey after my chemo, I can’t wait until I start to feel myself again. Going back to bed now, Sea x

Hi all,
Hope you had a lovely birthday yesterday Celeste and hope you are starting to feel a bit better following the chemo Sea.
How about meeting up on Tuesday 9th March as you two are free and so am I and maybe we can get some others interested too as we’ll never get one organised if not and then March will disappear!
Anybody else free and interested in meeting at Browns restaurant Bristol at 11.30am on Tues 9th March if that’s ok with people?

Hope to see you soon,

Anne xx

Hi all,

I’m free on the 9th. So will see you there!

Celeste: will try not to disappoint you with my new jacket. Weather permitting…

Thank god someone’s made a decision - I think it’s because Anne you’re all buoyed up following the fashion show - you did look great and very very happy!

You’ve shamed us all non decision makers!

See you there - off to Salcombe for s short break on Thursday - yippee!!!

Have a lovely time in Salcombe, one of my favourite places! Anne, where are these photos of you at the fashion show? I’m obviously not looking in the right places.

Sorry, yet again can’t make next week, have loads of work on with deadlines to meet :frowning: Have spent most of today at the hospital having Pamidronate and seeing top chief onc - who is very pleased with me (glad someone is!) and, providing my tumour markers come back ok in a few days time, doesn’t want to see me again until the end of June. May have been my last Pamidronate too as they want me to go on oral bisphos - but apparently that’s more expensive and needs funding??

Hope everyone is ok - will think of you on Tuesday.

Hi Bristolians just popping in to say to Lesley I only got my first month of Ibandronate through the hospital and after this the GP prescribed them…don’t know if you could do the same if that would help re funding?? Good Luck…hope you get some good markers back…xx

Thanks Belinda - they’re going to try to sort it out and call me next week re the ibandronate - got the impression it would come via the GP but still needs funding - not too sure on this though

xxx

I’m not sure oral bispho’s are more expensive overall lesley - it does mean they get to free up a chair. I hope you are ok with them - I couldn’t get on with them at all - but i think it’s a matter of routine - it completely ruins the lie in’s though. Glad the head honcho is pleased though.

I don’t know, all I know is that Pamidronate is funded and Ibandronate isn’t! Will see how it goes I suppose, but my veins are rubbish now so I’m not sure I’ll have the option. x

If any of you hear anything about funding for oral bisphos, could you please keep me posted? I’m having it intravenously at the mo (via picc line, my veins were rubbish from the beginning), but will switch to oral ones in July/Aug. Thanks

Lesley: heard a lot about you, hope can meet you sometime in the future.

Hi m1yu, have heard a bit about you too from Celeste on our last dog walk!! Yes, of course I’ll keep you posted - my onc has promised to sort it out for me within the next two weeks so I’ll let you know.

I WILL get to a Bristol meet, I promise, it’s just that I have a lot of work on at the moment and have to somehow try to recover from taking most of last year off work (I’m self-employed) Could really do with a nice fat lottery win

xx

Hi All,
So glad we’re going ahead with a meetup at Browns Restaurant Bristol on Tuesday 9th March at 11.30am. Anyone interested - both primaries and secondaries welcome as long as primary ladies not put off by us secondary ladies!! We don’t bite!
So far it’s me, Celeste, and m1yu so lets have some more too!

Sorry you can’t make it Lesley but glad the head onc. is pleased with you.
The link to clips of the BCC Cymru Fashion show I took part in for anyone who hasn’t seen it is

BCC were marvellous throughout and the speech given on the night by chairman of the trustees really packed a punch and told it like it is and how hard it is before, during and especially after or between treatments and mentioned those with secondaries and families etc. I thought she was excellent and they’ve really supported me as the only model with secondaries and I’ve help them highlight secondary cancer which they genuinely seem very keen to do.

Thanks so much for the clip Anne - wonderful! You looked amazingly and spoke in your usual eloquent way - thought you did brilliantly.

If by some miracle I manage to catch up with everything by 11.30 on Tuesday I’ll try to make it to Browns.

Anyone heard from Marmite? I know she was hoping to come to the next meet
