Hi,
i have had two nipple tattoos ie one each side, but am undecided wether or not to have nipple reconstruction too. I am quite pleased with just the tattoos but wondered if anyone else had opted for the final stage of nipple reconstruction and if it is painful or worth it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi
I had the reconstruction (1 side) and was amazed at the results - it is so realistic looking and not a whole lot different to my ‘real’ one. It didnt take long in theatre and I went home the same night when I had ‘come round’. Healed well and I had it tattooed about 6 months later - my choice. Very happy with results

I have also had a nipple constructed and am very pleased with the results. I had it done on 1st December - it took a little while to heal but only because my immune system was very low at the time. I am going for my tattoo tomorrow.
The nipple construction is a small op - I think that they can do it under a local - I don’t have any feeling in my reconstruction although had a general because I was having an uplift on the other side at the same time.

Hi
How long after your reconstruction can you have nipple reconstruction?

My PS recommends 6 months after initial reconstruction although he will preform stage II in less time if conditions warrant it. I was almost 6 months to the day - 16th of last month for me, in having nipple reconstruction and graft scar revision on each hip.
Gillian, my best to you in making a decision. Just to say, I have been impressed by some 3D tattoos I’ve viewed online, although I’ve never actually seen one in person.
