NO CHEMO / CHEMO

Hi there girls

Back again with a top up of news.
Up date - BC in 2002 with liver mets and then bone mets plus lung mets in 2008.
I wrote last year to say that I was fed up with ALL the treatments as nothing was working and it was hard to hear ( sorry not working lets try something else every 3 months ) and had decided to go with NO CHEMO. Well I was free for 9 months and had a wow of a time. Then in July the specialist phoned me to say that my markers were up to 9000 and that if I wanted to see 2010 I’d have to re try chemio - plus I will admit that I am having a lot of pain from the liver. So yes I have changed my mind agin but it was with a lot of thought again.
Why – because I am in pain and they say the chemio might help and also because my daughter is expecting our first grand child and I need to be there for her. Also I am now game for a last try having had 9 months off as it has reboosted my energy.
I have been told that I have only 3 chemios left to try at the moment as I have already had a lot ( plus a lot while I had leaukeamia in 2004 .).
I have a heart scan on Monday to see if the old heart is up to it and then I hear from the specilist on Wed and start the chemio on Thurs but not sure which one so will let you know next week.
Wish me luck as I still am not sure that cemio is right for me but will give it one last go.

Thinking of you all as always

hi jane , just wanted to wish you all the very best with your treatment. I found out I had BC on my only granddaughters first birthday a year ago. because of her I will do anything to make sure I am here for as long as posible, so I can understand your decision.I hope it goes well and is not to uncomfortable for you. take care kittyx

Hi Jane

Just wishing you luck and hoping that the chemo that is offered to you doesn’t have too many side effects, and of course, that it brings those tumour markers down.

Linda

Hi jANE
Good to hear from you – hope whichever chemo you try treats you kindly, reduces your liver pain and gets those markers down. Take care, and let us know what happens next . . .
