No holiday today

Hi all,

Just wanted to have bit of a moan today, sorry!!! but I was due to fly to Minorca for a week in the sun today with my husband, we booked it when I was not feeling too bad, but after a couple of bad days we had to cancel it.

I finished whole brain radiotherapy 8 weeks ago and am struggling to understand why after having a couple of relatively good days, I then feel like I did 6/7 weeks ago. I understand that radiotherapy keeps on working for quite some time and everybody is different, but is there anyone else who feels like this. I also feel cold and shivery for much of the day, dizzy and sicky.

Just some reassurance please as this seems never ending.

Sorry you didn’t get your holiday, a bit of sunshine would probably have really cheered you up as it’s been so drab here for months now - it feels like it’s been winter forever.

When I was diagnosed in October 2006, I was due to go on holiday to stay with friends in Spain the following week. I had to cancel as I didn’t feel I could go with BC hanging over me. Last year we did Center Parcs twice as I was too ill to go out of the country and needed to be in a place where everything was on your doorstep; it was great as I loved the peace of being in the woods. This year we haven’t been away at all as OH has been building up his business. I’m desperate to go away for just 3-4 days, but as we are self employed and the business has recently gone into profit it’s very difficult. I really wanted to go away after finishing Herceptin back in May but it wasn’t possible.

Hope you feel a bit better soon.
