I also read that one and yes the results are quite discouraging aren’t they ? However I do know of people who have managed to find a better balance by omitting some doses . Several people seem to be taking Exemestane on alternate days and my BCN has a patient who is taking Anastrozole twice a week. Of course jf you modify the dosage it’s hard to say how effective the drug would be at doing its job but we are all different yet the dosages are the same for everyone which has always made me wonder if there’s could be a reliable way to work out an individual ideal dosage for each of us which would be effective but with no or minimal side effects . In an ideal world … Xx
The one I read on tamoxifen either tried or cited research that tried something like every other day 5mg instead of everyday at 20mg. I’ve also learned more generically that gradually in recent years it has emerged with cancer treatments that it’s not necessary to throw the highest dose at everyone, so makes sense that the same with the hormone therapies will follow suit hopefully. I’m waiting to see my oncologist tomorrow with second set of biopsy results and hopefully my treatment plan at last so I can see if I’m brave enough to discuss it with her!
Hi @floss2, wishing you well for tomorrow. Do take the opportunity to discuss things. I used to write all my questions down in advance and just hand onco my piece of paper saying something like - i have a few questions so have made a list to save time. X
Hi @JoanneN I really hope that in the future it will be standard practice to conduct tests to see which of our bodies would actually benefit from hormone therapy and which of our bodies would be resisteant so that it is offered in a targeted way and not in an indiscriminatory fashion as at present to be sure of finding those for whom it will work. A more holistic approach to treatment would also be a welcome improvement. The Uk is way behind other EU countries in this regard. I would also like to see some research into the impact of fear as a potential trigger for recurrence due to hormone imbalance caused by release of stress hormones. Love Tulip x
Yes I agree with everything you have said. I think I read a thread somewhere where someone was able to get herself tested for tolerance / effects of different drugs but it wasn’t easy to do and also quite expensive xx
Here is a bit of hope for the future

Thanks for sharing the study, a very interesting read.
Yes very interesting xx
Hope for the future
Hello Jayesse,
I feel your frustration. My oncologist pushes the hormone therapy all the time. I am wanting to get off too. I have had the reoccurrence 3 times . Because I fought not to take the inhibitors or just Gods plan. Anyhow I have been taking exestame 25mg for 2 years I feel lots of pain in my right knee, wrist, right fingers. I hate this pain. Now I have to take ibuprofen for the pain. I hate pills!
