nodes

Hi at my initial surgery 4 years ago I had sentinel node biopsy where 2 nodes were removed ,now having treatment for secondaries and that side still not used for giving treatment ,has any one else had similar and if so ,do they cannulate the affected side ,I understand the lymphodema risk but does that still apply when only the sentinel nodes were removed ? I will ask my onc but just wanted to know of anyone else in this situation x

The risk of lymphoedema remains forever but is less for sentinel node biopsy than full clearance. They recommend being careful and avoiding any damage to arm unless absolutely necessary. Hope this helps.

Hi ladies

I;m not even sure I am on the right section here,I was diagnosed with secondaries last week… I had my hickman line inserted this wednesday ready to try this new chemo on me Gemcarbo…Im still in the land of limbo… but onc still insisting that its not a sec but a new one…but after calling the new lump a blood blister halfway through my last chemo sessions Im prone to not believing anyone at the moment!!!..all Ive been told is the sec is from my nodes

wishing you all the best  on this next journey xxx
