Just had a mammo and ultrasound scan as 1/2 way thro chemo. According to ultrsound - not much change in size of tumour - the radiographer tried to tell me they take many things like density etc into consideration. Will now have to wait till Tuesday to see onc again and see whether they are going to change my drugs etc. Trying not to be too disappointed but thats easier said than done!!
I started a thread on this very subject last week. After my 5th chemo it appears to have stopped shrinking, it has shrunk by about a third, from 4cm to 2.5cm, but it was at that stage after the 3rd. I’m very disappointed too and can totally sympathise.
I have a CT scan today which will hopefully reveal more, and my (what should be) final chemo on 5th Oct when the Onc will run through options etc
Keep your chin up, just wanted to say I know exactly how you feel
I’m sorry to hear that you’re a little dissapointed that there is not much shrinkage. I’m in a slightly different position to you as I had my surgery first and am now on chemo. I’m worrying cause there’s no way of telling whether its working or not as they have nothing to base it on!!
I wish you well for your appt on tues. Hopefully your onc will be able to reassure you,
I am trying not to dwell on it - but would be lying if I said I wastn’t. Nothings confirmed yet but I have the measurements from the pre chemo scan and this one and very very little difference!! It gets me thinking that the last 3 cycles have been for nothing and what about spread blah blah blah!! God I hate all this!!!
Kelly I know what your saying about no way of telling - and easy for me to say try not to worry - but thats coming from a worrier and bit of a pessimist so pot and kettle and all that.
