Hi. It’s my first time posting. I’m a bit anxious about a recent experience and was wondering if others have had similar experiences.
Having been very hopeful after surgery, and coping well with the chemotherapy. I have just been informed prior to my final chemotherapy treatment, that the cancer has not responded and the tumor has grown.
The plan is now to have radiotherapy in three weeks time. I was wondering if anyone else has been through this scenario and how have you managed?
I’m really sorry to hear your news. Whilst it didn’t happen to me it did to a friend of mine.
She was dx in Sept 09 with grade 3, triple negative BC and had her chemo before surgery. They could tell before she had completed the chemo that the tumour hadn’t responded and changed the chemo a couple of times. None of it worked so she then had surgery and rads. She’s been fine since (but anxious).
What chemo have you had so far? Are they going to try another after your rads? Maybe they’re just giving your body a rest from chemo and will try another later.
A friend of the family was dx a few years ago with grade 3, HER2+++ but refused any treatment other than surgery. She is still doing well.
I feel sure more girls with personal experience will be along to offer support.
