I am off for a walk in the cold to blow away the cobwebs before tomorrow’s chemo. I’ll need to stay within reach of a loo though as it is water on board (not to be confused with water boarding) day! x

I had wig appointment yesterday that I was dreading and the woman was the least compassionate person I think I have ever met! I was in tears, told a lot of women are let’s get this on you. My friend was shocked too. I wanted to know what the £50 difference was between one wig and the next (is it thinner, lighter, more breathable???) she said it just is! It’s done now, I ordered the first one she put on my head and got out of there very disheartened.
Pre chemo for me today, will discuss again whether to have 6x FEC or 3x FEC and 3x docetaxel and herceptin.

Mamadeacs, sorry your wig appointment wasn’t up to scratch, what a bitch and also what a shame! My wig lady was lovely and really helpful, she also is some sort of support nurse in the chemo ward so that probably helps. I don’t know why people do these jobs if they have no interest or don’t care.

Hi everyone, woke up to no water today, did you all know to ring your water boards and let them know you are on chemo so they can put you on the vulnerable list so they notify you of water is being switch off if there is a burst main they will also deliver bottled water to you. Just to let you all know??shi xx

I survived the first night after the 2nd chemo yesterday, SE very similar, so hopefully one more day of nausea and then only better days x
I have good veins in my arm, but they don’t go up there in my unit; my hand/ wrist veins misbehaved last time and I came home bruised after 3 attempts in different places and both hands, but yesterday… hey ho, first time and in ? so keep thinking positive, ladies xx
lesley, please tell us what they said about green tea, I drink it, I like it, diddn’t know we shouldn’t :(
my wig is ready, still in the box, not sure whether I will ever wear it… feel the same about the reconstruction of the breast… I Will probably stay breastless ? after mastectomy
my hospital pays £100 towards the wig, regardless of income, they work with the trendco company based in Notthingam, but they have a website too. They have nice hats and turbans too, so you might want to have a peek :)
I’m wearing hats outside as it’s really cold now, but proudly take them off inside. The scalp is not sore anymore once I shaved.

Jc hang on in there, you will be ok, rest and keep fluids going in, eat to keep strength up, it’s normal for the yo yo journey for emotions to be all over the place, you just have to go with the flow and let them out as they need to come out, then get your big girls pants back on, get all the love and support here on the forum and back into battle ???shi xx

Lesley your chemo seems to be mirroring mine re symptoms though I have had round 3 and we was typing same at same time

Thanks for your kind & funny words ladies. Yes I think day 6 is my ? day!! I have 3 days of steroids, so finished Monday. I did forget a domperidone anti sickness yesterday and probably not drinking enough water !!! Just had a bit choccy & marshmallows and the images of big knickers on bald heads definitely made me laugh!! I can join you ladies later

I’m struggling to get my water down today - only managed a litre so far and I’m not enjoying it at all - which isn’t like me!
I think its psychological … a bit like the veins … my body knows what is coming next.
I also never used to have a problem taking tablets - I could pop a couple of paracetamols without even a glass of water … but by day 8, I was heaving as I put a tablet in my mouth… how weird are we??? or is it just me???
Having a mare of a work day - been at it since 6am and I still cant see over the pill of ?
But no call to say my bloods are buggered … so every cloud!!!
JC, I also suffered on chemo 2 with feeling really down and teary on days 5-6 for no real reason. I think a few of us on the Oct thread did, just to let you know it may be a one off as I didn’t suffer with it this time round. So fingers crossed for you. Just relax as others have said I’m sure you’ll be back to your cheery self tomorrow.

Now I have a bald but well moisturised shiny bonce
A few hairs have stayed but not many am hoping now I have had chemo 3 and changing to t for 4 I might get some regrowth
My eyebrows are hanging on ?

Lesley - I really struggled with drinking last time round, and taking tablets was a mission. I’m hoping to do better this time round!

Poppywheel, tip for the fluids, I measured out 2l was 6 of my coffee cups a day, so I aim for the 6cups and any more than that’s a bonus, makes it not such a chore to get the 2l a day in then. Good luck everone with treatments tomorrow, that’s another one ticked off ???shi xx
Poppywheel, I did a similar thing to Shi I measured out how much water in one of my glasses and worked out how many a day I needed to drink. I also try to split so that I have half in the morning and half in the afternoon. I also try to drink my water by 7pm to allow it to get through my system so I’m not on the loo all night.
