Bythesea, good news abput the nails hope mine will behave the same ?
didn’t watch the film in the end last night, when I went to give my daughter a goodnight kiss, a blob of blood from my nose ended up on her book ? it scared her, bless her, she needed extra cuddles.
Can you see what stupid hour I’m writing? It’s 1.30 am, and I’m not on steroids ? second night in a row …
Hi anadan how weird I have woken up at just gone one for the last two nights too! And no steroids for me either ?
Had a stomp around the house s drink and then went back to bed.
School run for me this morning as husband worked nights last night ? then off for coffee and a stroll around the race course ??
Happy Friday everyone xx
I am waking up around 3.30 but dropping off again… I suspect it’s a neighbour coming or going!
Really autumnal morning here … waiting in for the gas man and then will head out for a walk too … my racecourse is a little bit too far away though Carole … enjoy!
Looking out from the house over the mist towards the North Downs
Morning JC … I panicked a bit when I saw you posting… thought your treatment had been delayed and then remembered it was this afternoon!
In the time it took the gas man to arrive and service the boiler the mist has drifted in and it’s proper 'orrid out there.
So I have decided to make chilli sausage rolls and mozzarella stuffed meatballs for the weekend!! Very therapeutic … The problem will be trying not to make myself a full English which I really fancy but dont need as I pop in and out of the kitchen!!
I relented and have got a new mini wardrobe of clothes the next size up … they will be going on eBay in April come what may!!
Eyelashes have arrived and I will be having a play with them after lunch … even though I wore gloves, the chilli is still on my hands … and I dont fancy blinding myself… I’ll let you know how I get on!
Nothing wrong with a bit of ???ladies, we even had the fast food song on Oct thread the other night as sue set us all off by getting a Chinese take out ???shi xx
Hi Lesley ??day 9 of last cycle, you will all be ???The same soon ??you are all doing amazing and you Mrs zooming round the country doing presentations ???doesn’t even start to describe you. I had good diet intentions at start of chemo, but they went out the window from the start, getting through chemo is the main thing, any ? belly and ass or ?induced thighs can be toned up after ???shi xx
I managed to get 5 lashes attached on each side, the problem is you have to glue the on to your existing lashes not your skin, so they are hanging on for grim death to the little stubbies I have left.
They look ok though and I can’t feel them - which is a big plus over the strip ones.
I’ll let you know if they survive the weekend!! Just got to OHs, told him I needed to send one message and then I’m all his!!
have a good one everyone and may all your se be minor!!
They said my haemoglobin had dropped from 100 to 92, borderline blood transfusion. They have advised me to up my protein - more eggs, fish, cheese/beans on toast, peas etc. I think I will restart the Guinness for the next 3 weeks so I’m able to have last chemo on 16th Feb. This could explain my tiredness and shortness of breath.
1 more to go!!! Whoop whoop ???
A couple of the ladies there were surprised I was wearing black nail varnish as they were advised not to wear any. So far my nails underneath seem ok.
Brilliant news on finishing Shi - did you get to ring your bell ?. I agree diets can go out the window for now, plenty of time for that later!! Bring on the choccys, biscuits & cake ???
Otter, well done on your walk in the sunshine. I’m hoping to do some over the weekend in Hastings, weather permitting
I was so relieved today Otter as I walked out the unit. I will do all I can to bring my level up, she didn’t say what it should be but it had dropped from 100 to 92. I will up my protein & green veggies in between the chocolate & other goodies.
You know stress and worry, particularly regarding family, can do all sorts to us. My mum is 84 and before I started my chemo we went away for the weekend and she fainted on me. She’s had various tests and things since but a course of treatment hasn’t been decided on yet - she gets her latest results next week. So there 's me worrying about her whilst she’s worrying about me. Sorry about your mum.
What are you knitting - I knit & crochet but lost all interest in the run up to Christmas but have now picked up my projects again. I plan a chilled night, dinner with half the family, a bit of tv & then go to bed xxx
I hope your mum feels better soon ? my parents are far far away from me and they don’t know everything. I just don’t want them to worry about me too much; they know about the cancer, but don’t know about every thrush, nausea and tingling feet ? I just feel I protect them from unnecessary stress by not telling them all the details; it would probably be different if they were close by;
Well done JC ?
My Hb is 106 so know it is classified as anaemic - they haven’t said anything yet about blood transfusions but know my blood thinners are stopping it from going up between Chemo ?
The normal range is 115 - 165 (I get them to print out my blood results every time so it is on there)
Sleep well steroid T-birds and lots of ??? to all the November ladies
Anadan thanks for your advice re drinks, I’ll certainly check them out.
Thank you Ruth - I think I definitely need to bring my hb level up. It’s all quite interesting, I found out quite a bit today. My Docetaxel was reduced by 20%.
Well done on finishing your project - a job well done. You must feel very satisfied. I always cover my head when I see mum as she doesn’t want to see my baldness and she likes to remind me, at 55, I’m still her little girl. Enjoy your day with your dad and sister.
I hate the thought of burdening mum with my issues and adding to her worries. I think we try to protect our parents as much ad our children.
Mum lives about 10 mins from me and has been through cancer herself twice and she’s so mentally on the ball that there is no hiding things from her. She knows the questions to ask . She’s a strong independent lady.
Lesley, lashes are lush, you’ve temped me to look into getting some applied by a beautician as they look so natural, thank you for posting photo ???shi xx
So, eventually after a good night’s sleep, hubby & I decided to head off to Hastings for some sea air and a mini break to recharge our batteries.
We arrived to sun, for all of half an hour & now It’s rainy, windy, dull & dreary. So am chilling in hotel room with a hot chocolate but have already had poached eggs for breakfast & fish cakes, with a small glass of medicinal merlot for lunch, so am already upping my protein!!
Wishing you all a lovely weekend. Ruth, Otter & fab hope your side effects have been kind to you
JC, how can you even go through this hell twice??? Your mum is a superhero amd she understands what you’re going through more than I can imagine ?
re eyelashes, I wanted to look so called normal today ? and decided to put some makeup on; when it came to mascara, I found out I had only THREE lashes on my right eye ?? they look fake because they’re spread apart ? well, it made me laugh anyway, I don’t get upset about hair loss anymore; isn’t it weird?
