Sorry to hear about your pains Lesley - I was advised by my unit to take paracetamol/cocodimol at regular intervals not just a one off. At least the pains show us the injections are working. How about a warm Epsom salt bath?
Last night I went to a local support group who had a speaker in from breast cancer care. She was promoting the moving forward courses. They’re free and are held locally and run for 4 weeks. If you’re 45 and under you can go on a free 2 day residential course . They cover a lot of topics from lymphoedema, menopausal symptoms, dispelling cancer myths to complementary therapies, relationships and activity and energy.
May be worth checking to see when the courses are run in your local area.

I hope you are all coping with the aches and pains I feel so lucky that I can manage mine on paracetamol and ibuprofen it must be so awful. Big hugs to all ??. I wish I could do something to help. Positive vibes being sent too.

She also spoke about their someone like me, where you can phone or email and they will put you in touch with someone just like you. OH’s, friends and family can use this service too.
We were given a copy of their Vita magazine & there is an article about hormone therapy and one on stress free travel tips which I shall read later.

Yes, ladies, hot baths with Epsom salts for less ridiculous pains than mine really work. But it has to be hot xx

First, a huge and gentle hug for Anadan. I am so sorry that you’re in such pain. It is just the most tiring, wearing and difficult symptom. I wish you a more peaceful time whether it be morphine (or cocaine!) induced, so you can get some rest and respite from feeling wretched. When is your next chemo?
I am thrilled that there is the possibility of a get together, but less thrilled than I can’t make it. Unfortunately it is three days before chemo number 8 (assuming I stay on schedule) which is also my last one, so I probably ought not to be out counting my chemo chickens before they have hatched and I have completed the course. I also have a longstanding commitment to speak at a conference at City Hall so will be across and down the river waving to you Prosecco peeps and wishing I could join you. Another time I hope.
Like Otter, I’ve been at the hospital this morning and got the all clear for chemo number 6 on Thursday. Paclitaxel part 2 is on. Also like Otter, I am using codeine a bit, but not cocaine! Who else is scheduled for this week? I am also booked in for my pre-surgery consultation at the beginning of March which has made the next step v. real.
I’ve heard only brilliant things about Moving Forward courses and definitely intend to do one when I am finally in a position to move forward or move anywhere after surgery and radiotherapy. I think (know) I will find anxiety and worry about recurrence a challenge so I will take whatever I can get in terms of help/support.
I met someone last week who had BC five years ago and she told me that she is still in touch with several of the women she met via her monthly chemotherapy thread. She was thrilled to know that the threads continue and are as helpful/supportive/fun/encouraging as she found them.
Off to make my batter and ruin my floor/ceiling soon. Toodlepip. xx

Lesley, sorry your aches and pains have lasted all day. Have you taken anything for them or had a hot bath - hopefully they’ll ease later. If your temp is still high maybe phone your unit.??
Anadan I had terrible pains on my last FEC , particularly in jaw & cheek area, along with a sore mouth. They gave me a selection of mouthwashes to use along with regular paracetamol & cocodimol. I hope it eases for you soon. I used to put a hot water bottle or microwavable hottie under my cheek. ?

Ooooft I go away on LGFB course and now there’s loads to catch up on!
I would love a meet up for bubbles but don’t think I’ll make it so another time sounds super x. I’m waiting to hear tomorrow if surgery will be on 28th Feb argh!!! Might need to wait till scars settle before bringing them to London and flashing them off :0)
Anadan sorry to hear your still sore but the cocaine option I think will defo help, maybe not in the bath of Epsom salts tho! Look what happened to Whitney!!!
Lesley sorry your also sore :0( No need to turn up naked to LGFB they give you the bag then you go through it starting with the cleanser to take everything off.
I would recommend it to all ladies. It did what it said on the tin xxx

I had to cancel my LGFB because I had an infection I’ve moved it to April, after chemo, to make sure I can make it : and now there’s something to look forward to xx

Bythesea, I have two more, one tomorrow, the last one on Friday. I had a break today, and I’m scared now this horrible pain will come back ?
Keep up with your meds anadan and you’ll be on the home straight.
I’m having a bad night, keep filling up for no reason - really don’t know what’s sparked it off.
