@flower5 ooh that’s good xx it’ll be done really quick !!! Hopefully you have minimal side effects xxx

I had the same convo about abemaciclib regarding a holiday at the end of May, but the oncologist was happy for me to start afterwards. x

I tapered off my lansoprazole - cut from 30mg to 15 mg - took that for a couple of weeks - then every other day for a bit. I think you can get reflux by stopping quickly- but it should settle as your body adjusts. :crossed_fingers:

Thanks, this is clearly what I should have done! Gaviscon will be turning a record profit from me this year!

Reflux is horrid - could you go back on a low dose and taper off? Take care

Hello ladies - Happy Easter … how is everyone ?
I’ve been away visiting my mum for a week and just got back last night x

Hi @arty1
Hope you are ok? I am currently in Florida & my daughter just came 2nd in the All star worlds cheerleading championships! I’m so proud of her & all of the team!
I am away with 30 cheerleaders plus all the parents & coaches & it’s been difficult for me I’m not gone lie.
I still haven’t lost the pre chemo weight I put on & also am conscious of having hardly any hair & having to wear wigs as i don’t feel comfortable with anyone seeing me like this & I had only just finished radiotherapy aswell so I’m having to be very careful in the sun!
I got a bit upset earlier because as a celebration for getting silver in the worlds every cheerleader & parent decided to jump in the hotel pool but obviously I couldn’t because my baseball cap wig would have come straight off :pensive:. I felt like crying :sob:. Just want to feel like myself again but it feels like that’s never going to happen :pensive:. Just 1 of those really difficult days I guess! Sorry for the depressing negative post. I always try to stay so positive but I have found this so difficult!! Xx

Hello @shelbylou81 and @arty1

@shelbylou81 thats amaing well done them  youll be super proud!
Well done you as well for getting out there and doing all these things go help! I know what you mean about the wigs i dont like wearing mone i just feel so self conscious wearing it! I think because i know its a wig i think everyone else knows, i have 1 i wear its really blonde so i wear a black wee hat thing on top of it or else i feel it looks to wiggy.

But give yourself time about your weight and allow yourself to have a cry, i was on my way down to more end of treatment scans yesterday and had a cry on the way down for some reason when i get to the hospital i dont want to cry. But yes allow yourself to cry things will get better, its a massive thing we have just been through and its alot to process  but we will get there xx

Happy Easter. How’s your mum doing now? And how are you?

I’m ok thanks. Struggling a bit with Letrozole at the moment - trying to find a time of day when it doesn’t interfere with my sleep big time! I had my radiotherapy planning scan this week (I think I got lost in the system as when I phoned, there was a bit of panic) and start treatment on 30 April - still 15 blasts…

@shelbylou81 that’s brilliant! And that’s an amazing achievement on your part to get on a plane and go to Florida with lots of people!

I agree, @shannon27 I feel really self-conscious with my wig, but I’ve been into the office this week and I don’t think people noticed. Also, at the hospital, the radiographers were surprised when I told them it was a wig. So I think it’s probably more us than anyone else…That said, I can’t wait to get rid of it. My hair is growing back but still really short - nearly ok to go out in public, I think!

Take care everyone. It feels a bit lonely at this stage so good to hear how you are doing. xx

Yes definitely,i cant to get rid of them. I cold capped and kept 40% of my hair but it started growing back between my last 2 cycles. But i want it to grow quicker  i lost a lot around my crown and front so once its all a decent length i can get it cut into pixie cut! Cant wait not to wear hats etc.

Whats next with your treatmeant xx

That’s good you kept 40%! I cold capped for most of them but then gave up so kept around 20%. My hair is getting a bit bushy at the back but it’s the front I’d like to see grow a bit to cover my forehead a bit! I was a brown/blonde and it’s really quite dark so far.

I’m on to radiotherapy the week after next. What about you? xx

Aw yes i heard it was good for the regrowth so stuck with it, but my hair naturally is strawberry blonde so i can see it coming but it just doesnt look very thick yet.

Im going for surgery on the 15th of mah double mastectomy and diep reconstruction. Then i need radiotherapy aswell cause i had 10cm of dcis then continue with the jags or kadcyla depending on the pathology xx

Oh gosh. You are getting there! I had a mastectomy in September so the surgeon is going to chat reconstruction at our next appointment :grimacing:

@shelbylou81 Fantastic News about your daughter !! Brilliant stuff ! Well done to you to for getting out to Florida … I’m impressed x
I do totally understand and resonate regards weight and hair … I look in the mirror and don’t recognise myself , I’ve put two stone on and I was already overweight so I actually look fat now and I’ve had a few good cries about it … it seems like my metabolism has literally ground to a halt and just isn’t burning anything at all …

I think it’s also all the treatment , it feels like it rips our identity away …once it’s all over … we can lose the weight … we can do it x

I had to work today and wore my wig similiar to my hair … a clever camera angle and I don’t look like a potato

@flojo your hair is coming back so fast !!
Sorry you are struggling on the letrozole :cold_sweat: My friend is on it and hates it … are you allowed to use magnesium balm for insomnia with the letrozole ?
Good to hear radiotherapy is soon …it will be nice to get that over and done with x

@shannon27 I’m so glad to hear the treatment response is excellent , a very well deserved Chinese and wine I think ! Your hair has done really well with the cold capping , I’m sure the crown area with grow back quickly x
