We’ll staging CT scan was strange felt like I’d wet myself when the intravenous contrast was injected. I’m so nervous about what the results will be I keep bursting into tears today. Having hair cut short tomorrow this is a very emotional journey so far I’ve been ok but this week I cant seem to keep things together I dread bumping into people as I don’t know how I’m going to react to their questions just want to hide under the duvet
Well ladies, things have now changed for me. Had to have a 999 ambulance this morning temp high and have been admitted with a neutropenic sepsis. Feel ok apart from temp. Don’t know how long I’ll be in hospital for will keep you posted

Had my hair cut yet again on Monday shorter still pixie style and I love it !!! Like you Brewster been wearing my hair in the same style for years curly short bob and this style has taken years off me will certainly be keeping it short now …not looking forward to being grey though as I was told yesterday you have to wait for 6months to colour your hair after chemo !!!
Had my wig fitting yesterday ok but looked like I had too much hair so had more cut from it and looks far better …have it just incase as I’m more a hat and scarf girl !!

Morning all will keep it brief Internet very dodgy. Rough 24hrs mainly vein problems am on the emergency line list. Temp down and blood pressure ok so have managed to stay off my own ward so far. Still not clear where infection is possibly urine (but i dont have any cystitis feelings) or my finger it is very swollen and red oncologist wants me to be seen by a plastic surgeon note to self don’t take off your nail polish when in your risk of infection week. Hi all! I am very glad to have found you. I had my first EC chemo yesterday 11 Nov. So far so good - just a mild headache which I think may be from all the anti-nausea pills. My oncologist also put me on Emend as I had daily sickness with my one pregnancy (was still throwing up in the delivery room!). Was anyone else asked about pregnancies and sickness? My oncologist said there was a connection between pregnancy vomiting and chemo. Anyway, I’ll take everything that will help me!
I have also been told I will lose my hair so got fitted for a couple of wigs, hats and pretty scarfs prior to chemo starting. I got so stressed about the hair thing, I think I’ve done over kill and have too many hats and scarfs. My hair feels like candyfloss today but probably my imagination as I am only on Day 2. I’m thinking of having it cut very short later this week or early next week but that’s still just a “think” thing. I guess it will be less of a shock if my hair it much shorter, it’s just above the shoulders at the moment.
So, just checking in with you all and will catch up on all the earlier posts and look forward to getting to know you all. I find it very comforting knowing you are all there and we are more or less starting off together.

Welcome to our little group x Hope you have had a good day today… I also had a bad head on my first FEC which lasted a few days for me though.
I’m on day 16 on my first FEC and my hair is now coming out thick and fast ! I had mine cut short a few weeks back and then again on Monday to a pixie cut which I really liked !!
I’ve also kept a diary of any side effects I have throughout my chemo days which is and will be good to refer back to .

I finally have a start date - next Fri - 21st …I’ll be so behind you all - but I guess it means you can all describe your side effects in great detail so I know what to look forward to :smileywink:
I’m going to do lots of visiting this weekend, shopping for hats Monday, then hopefully massage clients Tues, Weds, Thurs - so long as they don’t have coughs or colds.! It will help me relax as well as them!
I got my pot of Onicolife Nail treatment in the post today - I’d better start on that too I guess!

Hi all neutrophil count 3.0 so can go home on oral antibiotics. No chemo though for me on Monday 17th and don’t know when it will be. As I missed my line insertion yesterday I will need a new referral and chemo won’t happen until picc line In as I now have no veins. Won’t comment on anyone else’s post as connection still dodgy will read with interest what you have all been up to when I am tucked up in my own bed

Day 11 for me I’ve been trying to avoid to many social situations and now I’m a woman pocessed. I miss work, my house has never been so clean, de cluttered etc. my hair is still intact but my son keeps testing it and I’m sure it won’t be long before he pulls it out. I’ve started to eat properly again now I’ve lost a stone since this nightmare started and I’m officially into my thin wardrobe -a rare event!!!

Evening all, managed to get home late Friday. With a whole pharmacy shelf of antibiotics, but have managed to keep my temperature down so far. I actually feel quite well apart from being tired. I am also starting to shed my head has been itchy/tingling for last 2 days and put it down to all the talc I had been using in hospital. Slept in my turban last night and counted 30 hairs in there this morning then lots more in comb. There will be no chemo for me on Monday. I’ve been told to wait for a phone call.

I’m new here and will be starting my chemo on Monday. First off I’ll be having three rounds of FEC and then TAX. I’ll be getting a PICC-line on the same day as chemo starts.
I’m quite anxious about the whole ordeal but try to stay calm and take one day at a time.

Good luck for tomorrow Petran, I would be interested to know how the line goes. I hope to get mine ASAP so I can get my second chemo. Feeling okay today and ploughing on with the antibiotics. Wishing all who are going to have treatment this week minimal effects. X

I am awake and not sleepy at all, also feeling quite well, only a few side effects so far, i guess it’s the meds A few hungerpangs accompanied with quesiness that I’ve been able to work out with a small snack. I’ve been feeling some strange heart beats bit I’m not sure if it’s actually an issue or just in my mind - I’m prone to being anxious about these things so sorting the real problems from the ones in my mind will be a challenge for me through chemo (and BC too of course LOL)
My piccline was inserted easily and seems to be working. I do feel some soreness where the needle is and some strange sensations in my arm but it’s been less than 24 hrs and as I just said - I overthink and overfeel It’s probably just right
I’ll try to get som more sleep now despite meds. Think I need rest to be able to tackle whatever day 2 has in store.

Glad your doing well Annie, I’ve just been to my breast care nurse to collect my prosthetic, cant quite believe how big it is and she was talking about the injection to boost WCC. If its any help my neutropenic sepsis om Day15 was caused by an infected finger after taking my nail polish off, so no more nail polish for me. My 2nd chemo (also on EC) will be on Thursday. I cold capped and will be doing so again but am now molting at a great rate, as I move my head or touch my hair at least 5 hairs come out at once, have a tiny bald spot but nothing major, no one else can tell yet just me. I have started to wear a turban my chemo unit gave me to bed just to try and keep them in one place rather than waking up with them all over my face.

Day 15 for me and feeling great, painted my kitchen today. Hair now coming out and even though I know it’s going to go I still feel upset about it. Strange really as I didn’t think I would be to bad about it. Anyway hats and scarves at the ready.
I had GSF injections for 5 days after my chem to boost my bone marrow is anyone else having these,

Day 3 …2nd FEC
I’m feeling far better so far this time round folks ! Last time I experience dreadful head aches hangover from hell it the best I can describe …anyway this time I had with the E drug can’t remenber the name saline flushed at the same time it was going into me and my god it’s worked like magic so far !!
Had my hair shaved yesterday a friend came round with her clippers when I looked in the mirror it was a shock but then I thought omg I looks like Sinead O’Connor and started to sing ’ nothing compares to u '!!! How your mind works hey !!! …darling daughter came home after work and I broke the news gently to her she told me to take my hat off I did …she broke now and so did I x x
