now i'm worried...

not so much waiting for results, but for the tests themselves. about 3 weeks ago i went to my GP with a small lump on the edge of my nipple. she did a full exam, said it was probably a fibroadenoma and to not worry about it, but some back if anything changed. since then, the lump has grown, and another has appeared to the side of it. i went back to the GP yesterday, was re-examined, and have been referred to the breast clinic for an appointment this wednesday. i’m glad it’s so quick, but also a bit more worried now…he said he would rush me through because of the rate of growth - can benign tumours grow this quickly?

i’m 30 years old, and my grandmother and great aunt both had breast problems (great aunt had b/c twice - mastectomy then lumpectomy in other breast, grandmother had breast cysts and another lump she never had checked from fear of cancer).

i don’t quite feel ready for this…

None of us seem ready for what comes,Beautiful scars, but trust the experts. The best of it is the professionals are so quick to respond and are good at their jobs ,that sometimes you don’t feel you have the time to take it all in.
Nothing in this journey is unmanageable. It’s more uncomfortable than painful but waiting for results or fearing the worst is what messes with your head.Stay calm and find out what you have to deal with before you worry about something that might never happen .
The ladies on these forums all know exactly what your going through and impart some sensible advice and some very welcome support.
Please come back and talk to us any time you feel the need

had my appointment today, ultrasound and punch biopsy. i go back on monday for results. hopefully it’s just a cyst or something (fingers crossed…)

Good luck on Monday

Fully benign cyst…so relieved! And a bit embarrassed for overreacting, but grateful for the good result.

Please don’t be embarrassed, just join in our complete delight that you have one of those good results from your test.

Hopefully this dreadful scare will make you, and your friends, more breast aware. This won’t prevent anyone from getting cancer, but might help keep the treatment less horrible and help the chances of treatment success be higher.

I’m delighted that you’ve left The Waiting Room by the All Clear door, as I’m sure is everyone who read your first frightened post.

Well done Beautifulscars, what an absolutely great result.
I echo Chocciemuffins sentiments.Glad your not joining us on the treatment forums
