Hi all
Thanks for all your comments and concerns. XXX
OH and I went to hospital Tuesday for his MRI and bone scan. A long day as he had to have injection for bone scan then return for MRI and then bone scan later in the day. Good though because it was all over at once. He was in the MRI scan for 50 mins. Poor thing, he was shattered when he came out. It was noisy and he had to lay still throughout the process. But its good we have these things and to be honest the hospital and GP have been great. Have to say the Christmas & New year has not stopped them being in contact. They have phoned direct and sent letters out to confirm any appointments. Also rang on New years eve to wish us well and told my OH to relax and enjoy, nothing to worry about. Nice that.
We are waiting now for results from Tuesday. The cancer nurse said these will go to the ‘team’ next Monday and we should hear from there whats happening.
I have been to work today but not coped very well. Tears etc. I spend a lot of time in my office and my job can be very lonely and extremely stressful. I am going to try and keep going though because I will take time out when my OH goes in hospital and or starts whatever treatment we finally decide on. Also later this month I will have my pre-op assessment for a breast reduction & also to make both my boobs the same size.
Hatty - phew, dont know how you cope. Much love and thinking of you. XXX
…isn;t life a b…? Barbara
Hi all
I have posted this an another thread also and just thought I would share it here because it made me feel so much better.
In my job working with teenagers I have found them to be incredibly understanding, up front with their questions about my DX and not afraid to show their emotions. Since I was dx 2009 the girls I have worked with have done Race For Life twice and many have been able to talk about relations who have had cancer.
This evening I went to one of the centre’s where some of my staff team were working and they have just found out this week that Christmas eve saw my OH dx with cancer. They gave me hugs etc. and one of the staff cried. The young people saw this and after asking me if I had sacked her!!! they were told what was going on and were so concerned. We finished up having a very in depth conversation about types of cancer, treatments and their own experiences of cancer in their families.
The plan now is that they too want to do the Race For Life this year. Despite feeling totally C**p all week I felt so much better when I left this evening. XXXX
Hi all
Just to let you know the results for my OH were good. No spread. Cannot explain what a relief this is.
We laughed a bit this morning when we realised we were feeling like celebrating when after all it is still cancer, it just hasn’t spread! Amazing how we adapt to things. Feel so much better even though there is still a way to go.
Thank you all for your support. Here’s hoping there’s more good news on this thread.
XXXX Cory
