Hi.

I have just had my BCN give me an NPI score which is 3.84. Apparently moderate and classed as boderline!!

Any advice!

Your treatment team will use a range of information about your breast cancer to confirm the details of your diagnosis and plan treatment.

The Nottingham Prognostic Index is tool that estimates breast cancer prognosis (outcome) using some of the information in second link above ( tumour size, nodal status and grade). It can help guide decisions about treatment. NHS Predict is another tool that can be used.

There are also different tests called genomic assays available to establish someone’s risk of recurrence and any benefit of chemotherapy.

It best your treatment team, or your breast care nurses explains the significance of this result. It might be discussed further at your oncology appointment.
