Meesh, I’d be interested in your recipe for homemade curl cream if you’d be ok sharing.
OMG Cassie, 4 attempts!! Hope you’re feeling ok now x. Now they’re not allowed to use my right arm for stuff and my left doesn’t seem to have any veins ? they’ve given me a portacath which is ace. They just plug straight in to it for bloods and for chemo with only the big deep breath thing needed. I guess the picc is similar.
As for where we’re all at, I’ve had the lump removed and a reconstruction so chemo and then radiotherapy left for me.
Glad cherry b ok I did wonder with cherry b mentioning the mersey and you saying Liverpool if you’d been able to meet up. Dizzy yep same choo choo got us, just wish my chemo was going as well as yours. Cassie, 4 times what a nightmare your poor veins, glad they managed finally and good luck with Friday and the picc ?ali are you having a snb or node clearance do you know yet, not nosey but just trying to see how we can help each other through the whole journey and the wonderful May lady’s are always there for us too?love shi xx
Hi girls back from chemo - no major issues so will count my blessings. Cold cap was bearable (after 10 minutes of absolute hell).
No dancing for a few days ???as am sure that any sudden movements will have me vomiting around the place ?
Glad to hear everyone is doing ok.
Hi Cilla, my name is Ruth I am 44 and live in Windsor but a West Country girl by birth. I am looking for a man who will drive me to the hospital, wait around for several hours, help with a bucket if I vomit ? And won’t mind too much if my hair falls out.
???to all.
Ruth
Ah Ruth bless you. Glad today went ok. I’m just chilling now after my second dose. Got my dog and my duvet so I’m sorted ! Hubby will be home later to make sure I eat lol.
Well beautiful ladies so lovely to meet you all ? different ages. Locations, treatment plans etc but united in strength, courage and support and you often provide a ‘lorra, lorra laffs ‘

Hi all I’m Jane from York.
I had lumpectomy first with snb, but they found more nasty cells in the breast so after chemo I’ll be having a mastectomy, no radiation therapy necessary hopefully as the risk will have been removed. Day 6 for me and I’ve just had a delicious cup of coffee , the first one since treatment on the 13th, such a small thing but it’s brightened my day. Also had an echo today, as will be having herceptin therapy for a year starting with chemo 4.much respect to you ladies who are still working , I can barely string a sentence together ! Have taken a year’s sabbatical as I work in elderly health care and as with Suew in a school , the infection risk is too great and that suits me at present.
I love all the encouragement and laughs on here, they do keep me sane xx
Hi Jane jelly x
I really missed coffee and we started same day but I found if I had coffee mate I could drink coffee as it was the milk I struggled with haven’t been able to face cereal with milk still x maybe worth a try for you too xx
My next chemo is Friday 3rd November is yours the same? Xx
Sue have you tried almond milk? Goes ok over cereal and not as heavy as milk and had stayed down ok. I’ve at least been lucky on that front this round no nausea sickness and managed to keep taste this round, just got hospitalised with neutropenic sepsis?
I haven’t shi but I will certainly give it a go thank you ? getting fed up of toast for breakfast x
I seem to be ok with most things just milk for some reason though I haven’t tried it since Saturday and might be ok again now xx
Hi all, I have had a lumpectomy and sentinel node biopsy and luckily got clear margins and clear nodes so no more surgery. Chemo then radiotherapy and tamaxifen for me. My oncotype test showed a high chance of reoccurrence hence the chemo even though my nodes were clear xx
Ruth, Cassie well done for today. Take it easy and drink loads to get rid of that red wee!
Shi, I had a lumpectomy and 3 nodes removed (which were clear) in august, now on fecx6 then rads and hormone therapy. Yes op is doable, my advice to anyone still to have op is just do the exercises and like with chemo call your bcn if there’s anything you’re not sure about.
Dizzie, homemade curl cream is really simple 1tbsp of each of the following: coconut oil, shea butter and aloe Vera gel. Then mix them altogether (best way is probably to melt shea butter and coconut oil and then mix in together with aloe gel, I didn’t do that and it was a bit lumpy) in a little glass jar. At this time of year it’s quite hard but you only need a tiny amount (1/2 pea size) rub into your hands and it melts. ?
Oh, I’d forgotten about the nodes. Had two removed and they were clear but oncotype was 24 smack bang in the middle of intermediate so I was given a choice for chemo. Oncotyping is only done for bc that meets certain criteria I think. Gives a risk factor for chance of return.
