He Meesh my score was 31 so just in the high risk. Sue, the oncotype test is for hormone positive cancers with clear nodes. They send a sample of the tumour to the states and you get a score back which shows high likely the cancer is to reoccur. If it shows a low score then chemo is not always necessary. Unfortunately our scores were in the higher range so we know there is a benefit to having the chemo xx
SueW, they only run oncotype dx test if you meet the criteria (one of which I think is no node involvement, so probably why you didn’t have it). They use to determine if you need chemo or if you can just have rads. It tests genomes in the tumour not really sure what for ?
Dizzie, that really sucks to be slap bang in the middle, must’ve been a tough decision. Although when I asked my bcn about whether it could be borderline (as I had that with initial HER2 test) she said it’d be a yes or no. So I guess my hospital picks a score and above you have chemo below you don’t!

It was a hard decision but made easier by having two young children. I keep reminding myself that I am lucky it was a choice x

Yes that is true. If it’s any consolation, my OH was volunteering at a cancer charity and they have someone there that helps people talk through treatment and give a second opinion. Anyway, I went to see him just after surgery and he told me then that if the oncotype test came back intermediary that I should choose to have the chemo just to be sure!

Ali, well we’ve had the mixture of snb and clearances so we’ll be able to help, for us tn girls chemo is our only option as no tablet can touch it, when do the other tns get your braca results? And dizzy, you know we can all have chemo curls as the hair grows back which will be great for those who’ve lost their curls for a bit ?it’s nice to know where we all are in this do we can compare notes and help each other regarding side effects and things. ???

Hi Shi, yes face cleanser is really easy too 50ml rosewater, 20ml witch hazel and 10ml glycerin. Mix it all together and put into a bottle, as good as micellar water apparently (I wouldn’t know as never tried it)!
SueW, same here! Been working about 20 years and only been off twice (once in this job a couple of years ago with flu and once in my previous job with a vomiting bug). Think that’s why everyone was so ? It also makes me a complete nightmare as a patient! Had a meltdown after op as was impatient with recovery ?

Meesh I too was a terrible patient I shouted at my hubby to back off as I wasn’t made of sugar and wouldn’t dissolve x now people let me do what I can when I can because I promised to ask for help when I couldn’t manage stuff x seems to be working so far x though they probably still think I am a nightmare to be fair xx
What’s er and pr. I know I’m one of them. My memory for all this stuff is terrible and I work in clinical trials (only at the data end) but you’d think I’d be better at it.

SueW, my OH was treating me like that as soon as I got diagnosed (got on my nerves) but soon realised I wasn’t made of glass and went back to normal! That was thing I was dreading that people would start treating me differently, luckily I haven’t experienced too much of that. ?

Dizzy if you are er or pr positive it means your bc is hormone related and you maybe will need hormone blockers after treatment completed didn’t say always cause Of how different individual treatments are xx

Thanks for recipe meesh ?hood thieves oil recipe if anyone’s interested 40drops clove bud oil, 35 drops lemon oil, 20 drops cinnamon bark oil, 15 drops eucalyptus oil, 10 drops rosemary oil all essential oils and then mix in a carrier oil, extra virgin olive oil is ok - could be useful to have in house or sprinkling on paper hankies if you are out and about, it’s supposed to ward off colds and things. ???shi xx
