I used to see the same crew each time and by the end of treatment we were doing disco dances to the radio that was blaring out of the speakers. That was surreal for sure!

@nastynork sounds like you’ve made the right decision for you. I didn’t have any lumpectomy as mine was straight to mastectomy but honestly, still so much easier than chemo so you’ll be all good!

@lumpybyebye glad you’ve got the first radiotherapy session done now.

As for me, I’ll be having a blood test tomorrow morning to decide whether I’ll have my last chemo session on Weds or not. These last 6 weeks or so have been either that my bloods aren’t good enough for chemo, or they are ok after Filgrastim injections. I’ve not had any injections this week, so you’d think my neutraphils will be toolow, but now that I WANT my bloods to fail as it means chemo is over, I’m betting my bloods will be the best they’ve ever been! Oncologist is happy to miss 1 or 2 cycles out of 16. So fingers crossed for bad bloods for me tomorrow :crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:

@herts82 i can’t comment on tamoxifen and I’m on letrozole but so far so good, don’t want to talk too soon but i saw someone say you read more about people having bad experiences than good but that’s because more people talk about bad experiences…. It’s such a personal choice but i would have a frank conversation with your oncologist as i am sure they are used to it! Its got to be right for you…

@Mairead_49 never thought I’d be saying fingers crossed for bad blood !!! But totally understand, as I was pretty relieved when my last infusion was called off. I guess you have to see it as a win win situation, either you get more treatment so that’s good for no cancer, or no treatment which will also be fine but better for your overall health and sanity!!!

@lumpybyebye glad you got rads no. 1 under your belt, and that it was so unscary you got a fit of the giggles! Hope your arms feel better soon though.

I had my oncologist appt today to discuss rads. So it will be 2 weeks in total, 5 fractions to whole breast and 5 x tumor bed boosters due to my tumor having been grade 3. She expects planning session within 2 weeks and then start about 2 weeks after that so starting to get vague idea of time frame.

Sooo …. All WAS good , starting to see light at end of tunnel. But it doesn’t always quite work that way. So then the same day we had my partner’s cystoscopy appt to check for any recurrence of his bladder cancer , and it’s not looking good. Have to wait now for his MDT. and next course of action. So all our long dreamed of summer plans all thrown up into the air again …. Sorry , feeling a bit bloody miserable and sorry for myself now, and also like just smashing something….

@nib32 I’m so sorry, that is such rubbish news. I don’t blame you for wanting to scream and shout and smash something. Sending you and your partner strength and best wishes and hoping the MDT meeting gives you some clear answers.

@Mairead_49 Keeping everything crossed for bad bloods for you tomorrow

@lumpybyebye Well done for getting that first session out of the way. What spray moisturiser did you use straight after?

@herts82 I’m sorry I have no advice. I’m triple negative so surgery, chemo and rads only for me.

I agree the new page layout and different font is strange. I don’t like change!

As for me, I’ve got 2 Paclitaxel left, this Friday and then the following Thursday (due to them being closed on Good Friday). My oncologist said that a 6 day gap was ok :woman_shrugging:

I just want it all over and done with now, I’m so over chemo!

@Mairead_49 I hope the bloods give you the result you want. I have my last pre chemo bloods tomorrow and half want it done, but part of me would like to not have to do it again, and for bloods to be off, I know how you feel.

@poptart. So over chemo too, we’re nearly there x

@lumpybyebye well done getting you first rads done.

@nib32 so sorry to hear that. Sending hugs.

I remember when we all started chemo lots of us were craving salted Pringles. I cant look at a Pringle now. Most of the foods that got me through then I can’t eat now. I had a tuna sandwich during my first chemo and havnt touched tuna since. I seem to have developed lots of aversions. Anyone else had similar? My mouth still feels gross but I recently discovered a love of jelly babies. I ate a whole bag today. They made my mouth feel better (so juicy) so i kept eating them but now I feel a bit sick.

Yes to developing lots of aversions linked to chemo.

I was paranoid I was going to feel sick on EC so I ate really bland meals for a few days after infusion. I can’t look at a grilled chicken breast now.

Also I drank lots of lemon barley water, as normal water tastes like sewage. I can’t stomach that now either.

Funnily enough I haven’t gone off the cheesy wotsits.. I could eat bag after bag of those still
