Just got home from chemo no2! My neutrophils went right back up! Feeling ok at the moment and just about to work out which tablets I need to take out of the bag full!
Good luck to anyone starting tomorrow! @Mairead_49 you’re nearly there and you will be fine x

Hi everyone, haven’t posted for a few weeks….some very low mood added to which I fractured a kneecap so am in a leg brace, as if this cancer malarkey wasn’t enough! I have been reading everyone’s posts, celebrating the wins and commiserating with the crappy side effects some of you have experienced/are experiencing….today I had my Picc line fitted…I was terrified, but it was so much better than expected…chemo starts on Thursday….12 x Paclitaxel with carboplatin every 3 weeks, and then 9 weeks of EC every 3 weeks….then RT after all that…phew! Not looking forward to any of it, but also itching to get started, if that makes sense 
good luck to all fellow starters this week (@Mairead_49?) and I hope everyone else is as comfortable as possible! Reading everyone’s posts are what keeps me going sometimes…I will try and join in more…

I went for my CT scan today and then spent 4 hours in critical care waiting for results in a crowded waiting room. Not what i need on my potentially low neutophils week. It turns out i do have a pulmonary embolism. Its a good job the chemo unit made a fuss and made me go to critical care to get my chest pain checked. I have no symptoms now and am feeling well. I have to continue the blood thinners indefinitely. BC inreases the risk of clots as does having a picc line. I dont know what this means for my next chemo. My oncologist has cancelled my follow up tomorrow and i have to wait for a new date.

@lumpybyebye I meant to say my hair is shedding too. I think we can still lose about 50% of our hair even if cold capping works. I know you had a pixie cut like me, and I think that helps disguise the thinning. I’ve got a hair appointment next week for a good trim, and if it’s getting too moth-eaten I’ll ask for not a shave, but maybe a centimeter/couple of centimeters length all over? I’m resigned to not looking like me for I guess a year (I hate my short hair with a passion) and every so often I have a good rant about it when I pass a mirror. I’m wig shopping next Friday, and I’m hoping for similar to my old hair so I’ve got the option to feel like myself sometimes.

Thanks all dor the well wishes! So bloody glad to have this group to check in with. It makes this journey less lonely. I have a great family and support network but even so, this can all feel very lonely so having you guys to share with going through the same thing is invaluable.

@dilly I swear my lint roller is on overtime- looks like a Wookie has been sleeping with me - I have to roller the sheets and pillows in the morning then give my head a shake at the bathroom sink! The weird crap which is now normal. Im gonna look like a big baby with all my hair rubbed off at the back from sleeping or an out of shape kung foo monk. On the tenuous topic of foos - the weird itch sensation / tingle on your head before the fall, also a below issue! WTA. Ministry of funny walks … Oncologist was bemused when i asked if there was a soothing serum. She told me to ice it! Take that Kim Kardashian.
Yes, steroids kicked in and now in a very daft mood! Bag packed for #2 tomorrow. 🩷 Lets get this fecker.

Hope you are feeling a bit better now. If you want a cake ( and the after effects aren’t too bad ) have it. I don’t know how to suggest help as feeling rotten is awful. Hope you managed your walk though as they say that is a helpful if you can do it x

Good luck @tessie86 with your PICC honestly it’s not what i worked myself up for your be absolutely fine.
Also i know being a wednesday seems to be the chemo day so hope everyone’s treatment goes well today im also in today!
And just realised this is week 6 of my weekly Paclitax so im half way through the first half of treatment so 1/4 through my chemo altogether!
Hopefully 
So far to go still but each week is a tick so at the start i cried with how overwhelming it felt for 24weeks of chemo but we will get there!
