FML…now waiting to hear back from the GP as I think I might have a UTI and it should be Chemo 4 tomorrow ![]()
Wow @Mairead_49 perfectly worded I needed to read that this morning xxx
@Mairead_49 thank you for that, you said exactly what I had been feeling and I hadnt been able to explain that to myself. I have screenshot it as a reminder ![]()

Yup hubby in the spare room. Lol
I’ve woken up this morning feeling a bit under the weather. Don’t know if it’s from all the anxiety over the weekend from my period and the to-do around my blood test on Monday. My daughter is poorly in bed again following having her flu nasal spray (even though I gave permission to have the injection as that isn’t live). I don’t have a temperature thou, wondering if I will have to delay my chemo tomorrow?
My daughter has been ill for the last 6 weeks… just hoping I’ve not caught the flu from her
because my hubby has been near my daughter the most, he got kicked out our bed ages ago to stop me getting something from him xx
Oh no @tigress42 ! I have also woken up feeling poorly and I do have a temperature of 38.1 so need to see how that goes…
So hard to stay well with all the germs little people bring!
Hope it doesn’t get any worse for you and there’s no chemo delays ![]()
@tigress42 @rbf hope you are both ok! @rbf you really should call your chemo team with a temp x
Well, no chemo 4 for me today.
The emergency hotline sent me to A&E yesterday with a query UTI, so I could be cleared for chemo today. I was so well looked after, kept away from the chaos of A&E, had my iv abx more or less within the first hour, and other tests done promptly too.
Unfortunately I then had to wait 7 hours to see a doctor, and for a bladder scan to rule out urine retention. Everything came back fine, and the UTI symptoms put down to chemo irritating my bladder. But this was finally at 10pm, and my chemo had already been rescheduled hours earlier because I hadn’t been cleared for it.
So, I’m trying to look at it that my body could do with an extra week of recuperation after a brutal cycle. And no chemo on Christmas Eve now!
@rbf hope you have had good support for red card hot line.
My blood test was on time so didn’t have to wait, but it came out that quickly the phlebotomist asked if I was on blood thinners… probably explains the ridiculously heavy period I’ve had this week! So will wait and see if I can have chemo tomorrow…
Having another bed day today… not managed to climb out my hole yet ![]()
@dilly I’m sorry you’ve got a delay and well done for turning it into a positive to get that extra rest and recuperation
@tigress42 I had a heavy period after my first EC, and my platelets level fell quite dramatically at the next blood test. I hadn’t linked the 2 before but it would make sense as it was a very heavy period for me. Hope your bloods are ok and you feel better soon!
Sooo yesterday temp went up to 39, shivery, terrible chesty cough and ended up back in hospital on IV antibiotics for a horrible chest infection, exactly a month after last time!!!
Feeling so fed up of feeling varying degrees of crap constantly… ![]()
@rbf rbf so sorry to hear you’re having a tough time, and hope the abx kick in soon and you feel a bit better x
It’s crap isn’t it, I currently feel like I’m never going to feel properly well again, it’s just one thing after another. But this time next year we will be back to normal and this will be a distant memory!
@rbf sorry to hear you’re poorly, hope you feel a bit better soon x
I feel like @dilly says that it’s a constant circle and I’ll never actually feel 100% it seems to be one bad side effect after another! But we will get there it’s just a long process and seems awful at the moment!
I attended a Look Good Feel Better workshop on nails yesterday it was really good if you get the chance to do one they are really worth it x
@dilly and @rbf So sorry you’re both having such a rough time. Chemo is tough enough and then setbacks like this on top, it’s such a lot. This too will pass and you’ll come through even stronger than you already are! Hope you feel better soon X
Thank you @snooky x Today is just a weepy day: today I feel as though after chemo I’ll be left with permanent IBS symptoms (9 weeks and counting!) and a permanent messed up bladder. No actual evidence for this, just my weepy brain telling me! ![]()
