Merry Christmas everyone :santa_claus:t2::christmas_tree::santa_claus:t2: hope you all managed to have a lovely day!

I coped with yesterday - today on the other hand the bone pain is horrendous  so luckily not got much planned!

Lots of love to all :two_hearts:

@loupy I’m suffering with you today. Sobbing my heart out with the Filgrastim bone pain. Just taken 2 codeine (as prescribed by oncologist) and it is doing sod all. Feeling pretty miserable. x

So sorry to hear you’re struggling - they are brutal aren’t they

Are you taking paracetamol as well as the codeine? Loratidine can also help if you have any.

I found wrapping my painful bones in heat packs helped, but it is awful … I did my final filgrastim yesterday thank god

Sending a big (but gentle) hug :people_hugging:

@Jaygo sorry you’re suffering too - painkillers don’t seem to touch it do they! My husband did buy me a lovely heated blanket which is helping a little just think it’s one of those things that you have to ride out

@rbf @loupy thank you both. The codeine has helped and yes I take Claritin every day.

As you say, it is just one of those things we have to accept. From experience last month, today is the worst day.

We can’t take each others’s pain away, but the mutual support really helps to feel less alone with it.

Two sessions down, five to go. :grimacing:

@Jaygo last session I had one bad day - hoping this session is the same! And I hope you are the same too!

I would love to wish you all a very merry christmas! So sorry it’s a day late! I’ve had the last few days feeling symptom free thankfully feeling well to embrace barbie and lego but my word i’m shattered!

thankyou all for the on going support over the last few months! It feels weird that most of us about to switch chemos for the second half! and i agree it feels super scary and like we’re starting again!

I have one more weekly Paclitax to go and then start EC on the 7th and i’m not gunna lie im shitting myself! but knowing how you guys have got through it gives me strength. And the filgastrin pain is something else! and defo got worse each cycle i have felt!

I hope you all manage to have the next few days making loverly memories

I love this!

I always remember us doing this every NYE growing up as my dad was Irish - I think he would definitely be in favour of opening everything this year!!! :green_heart:

Had first of 9 weekly Paclitaxel today. It went ok, so far easier than the EC as he nausea and fatigue isn’t so bad. I had lorazepam beforehand, and also Piriton so I actually dozed through it which was nice

Sorry, super late reply. How are your hands feeling now? I wear my compression gloves all the time for first week, and after that if I get numbness or tingling in my fingers. Do the same with socks for my feet.

Well Done on getting to the end of your chemo cycles and ringing the bell :bell:

Everything has just felt a bit overwhelming since I had that horrendous period and having an absolute meltdown, so been a bit quiet (just been catching up). Felt overwhelmed by Christmas :christmas_tree: as I usually absolutely love it, and we were supposed to be on a 2 week family cruise… so I have determinedly shoved my nose in quite a few books to block it all out:books:

I’m sorry to have seen and read some of you have had a super rough time, and hope things are feeling better, and you have had some input from consultants to help manage side effects :folded_hands:

I had my last Abraxane session on Thursday, Christmas Eve, :raising_hands:t2: chemo now complete :raising_hands:t2: Only 13 herceptin injections to go:flexed_biceps:. Will start Tamoxifen in January.

I now wish I had rung the bell but I felt really self conscious. That’s lovely your nurse encouraged you @rbf. My ward has a hand bell in the middle of the ward, and most of the nurses were finished and sitting watching a Christmas movie on the TV; there was only me and another lady left at 4pm having treatment!!

Very late I know, but I hope everyone managed to enjoy some part of Christmas Day. For me it’s crazy to think it was this time last year when I thought I need to see the doctor about this lump I had; took me a long time to find this forum for support…. Thank you

@tigress42 oh well done for completing chemo…what an achievement!!

I would feel self conscious about ringing the bell too. At my hospital, it’s actually in children’s outpatients (donated by the parents of a child who went through chemo) so you have to go over there and ring it as the lone adult…I definitely won’t do that!
