Offloading emotions

Hi all,

Once again I would like to say how useful I find this group and how comforting and nice it is to chat to you all.

I post on this group for my mum, and for myself but about my mum.

We have had a real two weeks of it. Last week she had to have her lungs drained of fluid, had a porta cath fitted, started paclitaxel chemotherapy and have another scan because of more fluid which Dr said could be surrounding the heart and need draining.

I’m posting because she is just so tired (probably the chemo), really out of breath (the fluid I imagine) but it is just really hard seeing her like this and not been able to do anything or make it all better.

She always has lymphedema that she REALLY struggles with. She has weekly massage but still suffers. Bless her.

Just wish I could make it all better.

Thanks for listening xx

Hiya Marie
It must be so horrible to watch your beloved mum struggle so much …we sometimes forget how our loved ones feel.
From the age of 16 to 21 I watched my mum go through treatments for her bc but I don’t think I knew just how poorly she was.
The best thing you can do for her …give her plenty of cuddles, time and lots of choc !!
We are here for you if you need us.
Xxxx

Hi Carolyn

Thank you for you reply… it really does mean a lot. It’s very hard and feeling so helpless and not been able to do anything is really horrible. She’s been very tearful and upset and I just want to help her… I know I just need to be there and support her. I wish I had a magic wand to make it all better xxx
