Finished all treatment in June 2006. Iwas 42 at dx and the chemo threw me into a menopause and my last period was March 2006 ( 20 months ago) in the middle of the chemo. My last blood tests showed I was nto postmenopausal yet so am still on tamoxifen.
ANYWAY - yesterday I got a slight period start!!! After all this time. I am getting hysterical as I thought they were finished - onc did say very occasionally they come back up to 2 years later - has this happened to anyone else??
Yes It happened to me quite out of the blue and then disappeared again.(when I’d thrown away taxpax etc. I didn’t finish the box of ten and didn’t have a period again until I finished taking tamoxifen. You will get a sort of period then as well. Ask your GP or BC nurse just to reassure yourself

I had my “last” period the same day I started chemo early September 2006. Finished chemo and started Tamoxifen January 2007. My periods came back in April and I’ve had a few since then, but not regularly. Good news is my libido came back too

I think it was about two years after I started taking Tamoxifen so two/three years after chemo. I had two or three throughout the five years. I was 46 when I was first dx. This is my 2nd time around with a ten year gap so it is a long time ago now and hard to remember any details. Funny how you easily forget you ever had periods at all!!!
