On filgramstin and can't sleep

Hi, I’m sorry you’re suffering. I had my last filgramstin on Friday night until my next cycle. My bones were aching yesterday but it has now subsided. My only advice is ibuprofen and I put a cold hot water bottle on my pelvis area and it did work quite well. Don’t know whether it will work for you. It gets to the point you’ll try anything. I’m not sleeping well tonight but not sure why, I’m lying here listening to the dawn chorus. Hope you find some comfort👍

I’m on EC and have 8 injections per cycle. I take them before bed but I take anti histamines for hayfever anyway. The pain in lower back/hips for me kicks in on injection 6 but does subside 24hrs after my last one. A friend of mine was prescribed morphine for her pain so if ibuprofen isn’t cutting it I’m sure if you speak with your team they could prescribe something stronger x

Definitely take Loratidine. I had no bone pain when I took it after reading the tips on these forums. One day I tried without it and there was such difference in the pain! I’ve mentioned it to my oncologist and she’s aware of it and says no problems with taking it

Hi hun, I had horrible side effects from the Filgrastim injections, the worst for me was the contractions I felt in my spine, they were so painful. I spoke to my Oncologist & he dropped my dosage down from 480ml to 300ml x 7 days. Unfortunately I was still in considerable pain so he said to drop down to 5 days which was more bearable. Hope this helps hun

Hi springer and others,
7 or 8 injections seems a lot! I had 5 syringes with my 4 E/C cycles and ached for 2-3 of those days each time. No jabs with weekly paclitaxel infusions.
Docetaxel must set the immune system back a fair bit.
All the best xxx

Definitely try Loratidine, makes such a difference to my symptoms. I just take it a few minutes before I inject filgrastim.
