On the subject of lunch...

…I was going to post under Debs thread but thought it may get confusing as we are different ends of the country, so I am starting a new thread.

It is great to meet with others in the same boat. It is one of the most beneficial things I have done as a result of my 3 1/2 years using this forum - very good medicine, I have always maintained.

For a while, nine of us or so began meeting near Cambridge for lunch and laughs. Sadly those occasions have tailed off recently as our numbers have depleted. However, if anyone in the East Anglian region fancies meeting for lunch sometime, I think it is high time we revived the tradition.

Also, a more geographically wide-spread group of us used to have our own ULDs (Unhealthy Living Days) where, (after months of trying to find dates to suit all), we would book a night or two at a hotel and meet for dinner, shopping and the odd late night… We have done these in London, Coventry, Manchester and Edinburgh - a great way to dispose of our gormless and ill-gotten DLA. Perhaps we should try and arrange another of these meetings.

What does anyone think?

As a fellow East Anglian and someone who attends the meets Jenny has mentioned just wanted to add I’ve always enjoyed every meet…and if anyone lives or is on holiday near us anytime do contact us.
I’ve also attended 2 Unhealthy Living events…one ‘odd late night’ lasted till 3am.

An unhealthy living day appeals to me - I’m lucky I have good train connections to many places but I think Edinburgh and Manchester are a bit far for me to go being a hampshire lass now.
Hopeyou East Anglian can arrange a meet - it is worth it.

I would like to meet for lunch somemtime. Cambridge is 2 hours or so from me. I dont know anyone who lives near me and although I could get to London by train would prefer to drive.

I’d be up for this - about time we had a day of gorging and overindulgence on unsuitable things. I’m hoping to make the March 20th meet-up in London but the more outings the better.
