On top of it all the dog has died.

I am so sorry. I know what you are all going through - you have lost a beloved member of your family.

We lost our dog 4 years ago and we still haven’t got over her. We have got another one now and although the same breed she will never replace the lost one. Her character is completely different - but still much loved.

It will get easier for you all in time - but your dog’s memories will never be forgotten.

Love

~Thanks all
We had a little burial this evening - down at the bottom of the garden. So the boys can at least know that he’s at rest now.
Gosh this really has got me thinking about me. The boys have taken it hard and I feel quite helpless in consoling them. The youngest slept in our bed last night and is very upset. I really feel quite overwhelmed. Its not like adults who can think logically - children think with their heart and I wonder who would be there for them if I am taken.Sorry to be so morbid.

Hi Muddy

I’m so sorry to hear about this. I lost my cat last year, 19 years old and had lived with me the whole time, and I was devastated, still think about my little Miaow.

My condolences to you. Your poor little children, it’s awful for them

Lots of love

My lovely persian cat died three weeks ago. He was quite old but showed no signs of illness. I am not a big animal lover but Barney was there all through the treatment and I used to talk to him when I was on the dreadful taxotere. He was always there in the kitchen when I managed to get up for something. I feel like he has abandoned me !! daft innit. It’s awful about your dog as emotions are extreme enough as it is and worse cos of the kids. Jack my 16 year old was very upset as it was his cat, but then within a day or so he was okay… well good I thought if the worst comes to the worst … wouldn’t want him mourning me. But did think he would have mourned Barney for at least two days. Hope the kids ok now love Eileen

So sorry to hear this. What an awful day you and your children have had.

Eileen - sorry to hear about Barney too.

Take care everyone

Hi Muddy

I saw your posting and my heart went out to you all. Just prior to my diagnosis I lost my beloved old horse then I found the bc in the April and lost my old girl Scottie in the June. I went through chemo and swore that when I was finished I would have another animal.
So when I felt well I researched all the breeds of dogs and visited (mostly in tears) the animal centre’s in the area. Finally the day after I finished chemo with the help of my children (24 & twins at 17!) I went to collect my ‘best buds’ Ben & Ollie’! They have been my saviours…they gave me the confidence to go out walking again, I was able to talk to them about my problems, I dance in the kitchen with them and they don’t judge, and they make me SMIILE, which was something I hadn’t done in ages!
Good luck with the last bits of your treatment, maybe…just maybe there will be a little new addition to your household in the distance future?

Much love Debbie xx

I’m so sorry to hear about your dog - I know just how it feels. We have lost several dogs over the years, and it never gets any easier saying goodbye to a part of the family. At the moment, we have a Jack Russell (he’s 3 years old, and the scruffiest little sod you have ever seen!), and two cats, and I know I will be devastated when anything happens to any of them.

Big hugs, and take care xx

Oh, Muddy love, so sorry to hear this, what a blow for you all. I am on my second Jack Russell, the first died about 6 years ago, and I was devastated to lose him, so know how you and your family must be feeling.

I went to Battersea Dog’s Home and there was another little Jack looking for a home. We have had him for almost 6 years now.

Maybe you will feel ready in time, to get another little dog and give him a happy life too, even though you will never forget the little chap you have lost.

Got to say, mines a blinkin nuisance, barks a lot ( specially now, what with the fireworks), moults everywhere ALL YEAR ROUND, and needs quite a lot of walkies when I don’t always feel like it (am having the dreaded taxotere at the mo), but I love him to bits really.

Huge hugs to you
