The programme will include talks, workshops and also an opportunity to meet up with other women aged 20-45 to share your experiences.

The Younger Women’s Forums are open to anyone aged 20-45 who has been diagnosed with primary breast cancer within the last three years, the event is completely free of charge and includes lunch and refreshments.

A fab initiative. I’ve emailed for further details.

I’d like to come but I have my third round of chemo (FEC) on the 10th of June so I might feel very tired…shame, another time then.

I’d like to go but being 46 I’m too old!

Feel like a 20 year old inside, my best friend is 32 (married to a 27 year old)and most of my other friends are in their 30’s too! I have a 7 year old son and really could do with talking to some younger Mums with young children… . .

Have filled in the form, I think its a great idea, feel quite apprehensive but think I’ll do it…

Are the age limits strict KatieF ?

My two children are a similar age to yours.

Hi cupoftea

My BCN told me to contact them as she wanted me to go for support but when I called I was told no as there had to be a cut off point, so yes guess they’re strict!

I’ll pm you about children

i will probably get thrown off for this, but i bet there would be people who would forget their real date of birth temporarily, obviously as a result of their diagnosis and treatment, and therefore attend thinking they were actually 44, and then get all the help and support that is there waiting for people in their position. I would of course never do that or condone it myself. Ever.

there was somebody aged 48 on the glasgow YWF even though the cut off was 45 for that too… so i presume there must be some way around it.

Where abouts in london is this going to be? And how long is it - is it a full day? Would love to go but its my sons birthday the next day and got a party to organise, so depends.

There are some more details about the forum here:

It is all day and I believe it will be at Breast Cancer Care’s London centre which is just behind the Tate Modern, if you’re familiar with the area (Southwark/Waterloo). But if you have specific questions, it’s best to email/phone the services team who are organising the day.

Best wishes
