Does anyone else have a problem with their teeth whilst taking Zometa? Over a year ago I had a tooth abscess treated with root canal treatment. Since this the abscess still flares up from time to time and I am in constant pain and have to take antibiotics approximately every six weeks. The hospital have advised that I dont have the tooth removed because of the risk of osteonecrosis. I wondered if anyone has had a similar experience or whether anyone can offer any advice. Best wishes Ruth

Hi ruth I’m not sure that I have any real information but at my recent dx the onc said to make sure I had any extractions done now because having them done on the treatment caused some horrible complications. I’m sorry your in this position I hope someone can shine a light here and advise you more helpfully. Ethel x

Hi,Ruth,I’m sure someone on here has had an extraction. It’s on a very old thread. I think once and dentist have to communicate about it. My dentist said it can be done but my hospital said I wasn’t even allowed a filling!!
If I find old thread I’ll try to bump up or BCC might know where it is and put a link in.
Huge hugs,Helen xx
