It seems an absolute age since I saw the surgeon on 6th Sept but at long last my operation is tomorrow.
Not sure how I feel at the moment as I have been going through some periods of feeling very guilty over the last few weeks when I read some of the posts on here.
Things may change in the morning when I leave home but I think I have already gone through the nervous stage and feel quite calm about it at the moment.
Due home on Saturday so will post in a few days time on how things have gone.
Good luck Jean. Hope all goes well.
No need to feel guilty - this isn’t a competition about who is worse off. BC is devastating, no matter how early/small, etc, etc.
Glad its finally come round for you, the waiting is horrible. Hope all goes well, come and post when you feeling up to it, take it easy after your op x
Glad the time has arrived for you. Absolutely get off the guilty bench - I know it’s hard - been sat there a lot myself. BUT, it’s the *diagnosis* that puts us all in the same boat, not the details.
Looking forward to hearing how it all goes. Do take care.
Op went well on Friday and came home Saturday. Had the district nurse in today and for the rest of week because of drain but other than that I feel very good in myself with just minor discomfort more from the swelling under the arm.
Restarted arm exercises today and managed to do them to the full extent I think mainly because I started them before the op.
Hi Jean, so glad all went well with the op & that you’re recovering well. I found the drain to be more of a pain than anything, having to lug it around with u all the time. It’s great that u can do the full extent of exercise, just be careful u don’t do too much. Hopefully you’ve got your feet up & resting now x
Glad op went well and that you are feeling ok, thats great that you are able to do your excercises but as hjv said dont overdo it. Take it easy. ((hugs))
Glad your op’s over and you’re doing well.Take it easy for now and let your family look after you. I don’t know what treatment’s planned for you but now I’m 9 months down the line and going on a long awaited holiday on Tuesday I can’t believe how the time has gone. Take care from one granny to another
Margaret x x x
Thanks everyone yes I am taking it easy hubby is looking after me well, I am taking rest breaks as soon as I feel tired and don’t stretch the exercises just do what I can comfortably.
Hope you have a blinding holiday Margaret you deserve it, don’t know what my continued treatment is going to be until I see the consultant in 3 weeks for path results.
Hi jean so glad your home and not in any pain ,yes the drains are a nightmare and i had two as had double mastectomy so brought wine bottle bags from tesco wich were a help , also go for my results on tuesday so will no my plan , anyway great to have you back with us thinking of you xx josie1
Glad all went well with your op and enjoy being waited on hand and foot. Doing exercises beforehand does seem to help but as others have said don’t go mad with them. Good to see your are not in too much pain either.
Hi josie1 glad to hear from you will be thinking of you tomorrow. I bought an old fashioned wash bag with the draw string top only £1 and it does the job, I can well imagine when it is removed I will be hunting for it before I move anywhere lol.
Thanks Barbara I only allow myself to go as far as I can without actually pushing it, must admit I quite enjoy doing them and feeling as though I am getting everything moving.
Don’t forget to let us know how you get on josie1.
