Our own categorised treatment section.

It may just be me being touchy today. But it would be really helpful if under the treatment thread on the SBC we could have categories for chemo, hormone, rads etc.It would be easier to find threads and follow.
I do read the section on going through treatment on the main page. But get quite disheartened when some of the primary ladies moan about bad nails or putting on weight and weather they should stop treatment because of side effects.
SORRYI don’t mean to offend any body. But we don’t have a choice and have to do treatments put up with SEs or die!
Once again I’m sorry I certainly am not belittling anybody’s BC or don’t mean to upset anyone. I just thought it may be helpful .

Hi Catlady, I agree with you. I have just started chemo for the first time - having controlled bone mets for 3 years with hormone treatments. I posted in the chemo section of the primary section for a little extra support but do feel very different from the primary ladies because I know my treatments will never stop. So I think it is a very good idea. xx

Good discussion, which I’ve been watching.   … I confess to sometimes feeling not as sympathetic as I should be, when someone on primary treatment is complaining about side effects - or even different brands - of the little tablet that is keeping me alive (letrozole, at the moment).

Just a few more thoughts:  I suggest “Herceptin and other targeted therapies” tho I’m not a herceptin lady myself.

And to make very sure that nobody can get “lost” in the wrong section… call them

SECONDARIES - chemotherapy

SECONDARIES - hormone therapy

etc.etc.

Hi all.  I too would not want segregation on these forums… but possibly there could be a separate part of the forum that could only be read by those with seco… oops, I mean METASTATIC bc.  Not sure how this would be enforced in practice but if there is a demand for a private “secondaries” forum I would probably join it.  It would also be secure from the prying eyes of Googlebots and those twisted people who search the Net for cancer- or breast-related webpages for the wrong reasons.
