Was off sick for nearly a year following breast cancer dx in 2005, now out sick again following kidney cancer dx in July
Just had kidney removed few weeks ago
Have had my moneys worth from the NHS in more ways than one, would change it if i could though lol
This site has kept me sane and i follow a lot of the threads

Hi i am a staff nurse in a NHS Mental Health Unit. Off work since Feb 08 due to go back in Oct 08. Been paid for sick leave so not too bad, will be strange to go back after all this time .

Work for The National Trust as a Guide and look after the Volunteer Room Stewards at a moated Manor House. (I’m the second one to be dx out of the permanent work force with only 12 women in it.)
I’m a primary school teacher. I got diagnosed only a few weeks after my teaching assisstant returned to work after having breast cancer herself. Very odd.

Hi I am an Outreach Worker for Social Services working with children in need. I am also a CIMI (Certified Infant Massage Instructor). I have been off sick since end of MAy 08 and found out today that after middle of Nov I go down to half pay (losing £700 a month) panic has set in but OH keeps comforting me stating we will be alright. I am also a level 1 football coach and I have a 7 year old son.
