Hi, I had BC 9 years ago, have just discovered I have BRAC1 alteration in that gene. I am going to have the ovaries removed next week (am v nervous)
My question is has anyone had multiple open surgery and been able to have keyhole for this operation?
I had 2 c-sections and 1 hysterctomy and feel doubtful if the team can do a keyhole method. Appreciate any views you may have.

i have brca2 i have had 2 kids by c/section, 1 d&c for a miscarriage and had a successful ovary removel in aug last year. i was in for 2 nights as they found a large cyst on the ovary but all went well and i was back to normal within a week or 2. good luck x
hi im jude and also a brca1 carrier im 35 and had a oopherectomy last year and recovered quickly and i had it by keyhole with 4 tiny inch long scars that healed fast it was easier than i thought it would be and home on the 2nd day
