Ovary removal

Hi all,I was dx with ibc in July 2007 aged 34. I went through chemo, rads and I am now on Tamoxifen and I have been in remission for just over a year. As both my mum and sister has BC in there 30’s and my mum died aged 44, I decided to go for genetic testing. Was advised that I BRCA2 gene fault. I decided to have my ovaries removed and my 2nd breast removed. I have yet to hear back from my breast surgeon, but my gyno sent me for both an ultra sound and MRI, which showed I have fluid in the pelvis, a cyst on the left ovary and an enlarged right ovary. When I first went to see her we both agreed to hold off the surgery until I lost some weight but now due to the scan results she wants this done ASAP but with no explanation why. Has this happened to anyone else as I am really worried about this.

Thanks

Hi Darl, I cant help you really as I am pretty new to all of this. I just wanted to say if they want to to do op. Then go for it. Get it over and done with.
I really hope someone with a similar experience is along soon.
Just didn’t want to leave you unanswered.
I will be thinking of you. xxx
