Just wanted to share some fab news, I was dx with pagets and poss DCIS in oct 2012, had an immediate recon using veritas bovine membrane and implant on 1st nov. All went well, out of hospital the same day, 2 drains for 5 days and have been back today, they confirmed I did also have the DCIS but that this was just a small area and so I don’t need any further treatment. Went home with hubby and our 3 yr old, picked up our 6 yr old from school, went straight to our favourite Chinese restaurant together, had a couple of glasses of wine to celebrate and wandered home very content watching the boys running ahead jumping in puddleS, laughing all the way. I feel soooo lucky and blessed every breath I take I am thankful for those who have helped me. Just wanted to share this as I know when I was first told I might have cancer, I came on here and I looked at this section, hoping to see others in my situation, so I hope this helps someone else to know that it is not always chemo and radiotherapy or other treatment, sometimes we are lucky to get a new boob and another chance. We are all unique and our bodies are immensely complex, good luck to anyone reading this, I hope your journey is as positive as mine. And thankyou BCC for being there, best wishes jayne
