pain after RT

Hi all

I finished RT last week and was zaped with two high doses of RT on my scar to end the treatment.

I am in a lot of pain now ,my breast,chest and neck sting like it has been badly burnt. I started tamoxifen yesterday and want to know if I can take any pain relief ,over the counter or prescription, to make this feel more comfortable.

I am hoping this is only temporary.

Anyone got any ideas? Should I contact breast care clinic or do they have no dealings with me now? Or do I go to my GP.Who knows!

Hi Yvonne,

I understand that we always have access to our Breast Care Team once we have been diagnosed etc.

My immediate thought would be to contact your Breast Care Team, they have more day to day dealings with these situations over GPs.

I have had problems too but still going through Rads (had #10 out of 15 today) I was told we can still ring our breast care nurse for at least five years. I spoke to mine this morning and she was very reassuring and told me to talk to the Rads team. Which I did and I am now booked in to see one of the breast doctors tomorrow. As for pain relief try a couple of Ibuprofen and get some pure Aloe Vera gel to slap on. It feels like you have been burnt because you have!
