Hi,
I just need a bit of reassurance as I get pain in my ribs once every month…or couple of months. When its here i cant stop thinking about it as its different from all the pain in my joints that i get! It freaks me out! I have asked this question a million times, but when it goes and comes back there is nothing to worry about…its just my medication? Thats what doc told me last time i went to him about it so i feel a bit silly going again!
xx
Hi
I am on zoladex and tamoxifen but have been told by my bcn that the terrible rib pain that I get on and off is from the rads a year ago!
Its like a bruised pain that comes for a few days then goes for a few days.
Thanks lolly, but didnt have rads had a double mast. I have been told that may come from that…not sure! Thanks x
Hiya,
I get recurring rib pains too, sometimes not much, sometimes awful, as well as the joint pains from zoladex. Have been told the pains are from the radiotherapy I had 7 months ago plus the zoladex. Does anyone know if the pains are supposed to alleviate while on the zoladex and tamoxifen or if it will stay the same until we’re off it?
Hi I get terrible pain in my ribs but i am on none of those treatments. I had a mastectomy on March 26th and I came out the next day with drains still in. They took one drain out 5 days after the operation, but the other kept draining to over 100mls so the district nurse left it an extra day. Then a day later i started with an infection that didn’t clear up with 1 course of antibiotics, so I had 3 courses. It still has not properly cleared up yet, and my chemo should start on the 18th of June. But I get this terrible pain in my ribs especially when I lie down,I did break my ribs once, and this pain feels just the same. I suppose it could be internal bruising, I daren’t mention anything else is wrong I have had enough with this infection lol So if anyone founds out what it is I will be very gratefull

Been on Tam since Feb. Reported rib ache to my GP last week. Also had associated shoulder ache and she diagnosed an irritated diaphragm. My latest liver function tests revealed an elevated alkaline phosphatase, which is apparently a side effect of Tamoxifen and GP put the irritation down to this. Pain lasted 7 days and hasn’t recurred. Hope this helps.
Has anyone experienced an acne type facial rash with Tamoxifen or Herceptin? Thanks.
