Thanks for all the advice I have had so far, its great to be able to turn to you when I have worries and silly little questions about stuff. This last wsek I was poorly with pains in myright side and back. Called in the doctor who diagnosed a kidney infection and I am an antibiotics until tomorrow. They are definitely working but I still have a nagging pain in my side - obviously around my liver. I am taking cap & lapatinib and am on my 4th cycle, starting week 2. I have mets in my axilla, lungs and liver although the results from my last ct scan last week showed everything has reduces which is great news. This morning I have had terrible acid and was sick bile and the pain in my liver is still not receding. Getting a bit worried about things but wont go to the hospital until Monday when the staff are all there. Have taken codeine today but with only one slice of dry toast inside me I am not surprised I was ill!! Does anyone have any ideas what wrong as I am beginning to get concerned about my liver, even though the tumours are reducing…If its not one thing its another!!!

Anne, Not sure that it helps but I have had progression in my liver with every scan but absolutely no pain or tenderness.
It’s most likely to be referred pain from the infection or maybe due to the pain you had you have been sitting or lying awkwatdly. I think the fact that your recent scans showed regression it’s unlikely to be mets growing and causing pain.
Try taking some ibuprofen and maybe a hot pad. CHeck you’re not rushing around like a mad thing either and rest up!

Just wanted to say my friend had the same systoms (she hasnt got BC) Terrible acid, sick, pain in right side and it was a gall bladder infection.
I’m on lapatinib too.
