Painful body.

Hi, I’m new on here and shall be ringing bcc in the morning, but I wondered if anyone else had this problem. I had mastectomy and recon 10 years ago and the recon has been reconned many times due to capsular contraction and scar tissue problems. Last time was 3 years ago. Other side had augmentation to even up and match other breast. That hasn’t really been too much trouble but does occasionally get quite uncomfortable underneath the breast.

Last night I couldn’t get comfortable in bed because of the aching around the breast line underneath, so I laid on my back and massaged the area and it was soooooo painful. I’m not sure if this is because I have bought some new bras which I was pleased with because they fit nice and snug, but maybe they are a little too snug and are causing this discomfort, or whether its my body rejecting the implants. I’ve made my mind up if I need surgery again I shall have the whole lot removed as it doesn’t seem to be worth the pain and all the ops I’ve had. I know some people have one and thats it, but it doesn’t seem to be like that with me, though I have always considered myself lucky as I’ve had a perfect pair made :)), and never had infections.

Has anyone else had these probs? It would be good to know. Also someone told me very recently we shouldn’t wear underwired bras with implants. I never heard that before, only immediately after surgery. If thats the case it could well be the cause of my discomfort. Thanks for reading. Love and blessings, Dee x

I know no one has replied, but just in case any one is in similar position further down the line - I rang bcc this morning and they feel, as I do, that the problem is muscular tension, as it has improved since leaving my bra off. She also suggested taking wires out of bra to see if that helped - great idea. And by the way underwires ARE ok after the first few weeks so I wasn’t wrong there. Good luck to all you ladies, good health and well wishes to you all. xx

Bless you someone will come along just most skip things if it does not apply to them and to be honest I haven’t had MX but do so sympathize it must be so worrying! I had 2 WLE,rads chemo and now Herceptin I have some hardening of my breast and cannot get on with most bras!!! So uncomfortable but now know I have Lympho so that would explain a lot! I know the feeling of being uncomfortable under the breast it is maddening as well as painful but hey I am still here and kicking butt!!! Wishing you good health and have a big Hug while you wait! Em xxx

Hi deema

I occasionally have some pain in this area after I had rads as sometimes I’m a little swollen by the end of the day; a mild fluid build up. I found “going commando” when I got home helped in that removing my bra stopped the friction; just wore the crop tops I bought for sleeping in after my 2 WLE and during rads.

Take care
Lynne
