had lumpetomy, chemo and rads in 2007 and have been on tamoxifen since feb 08. last period april 6th this year. my right breast has beenreally tender and achy/painful quite alot for about a week ( this was the one I had cancer in and sometimes the left one has the odd twinge. cant feel any lumps but have been worrying, doc has prescribed me a high strength evening primrose oil to take, do you think its the tamoxifen or something else?

I have painful breast which had a lot of swelling too. Its always best to discuss it with your BCN and if she is worried they should call you in to take a look at it. Apparently we all react differently to rads so have been told so far its usually its side effects from that.

Even after 5yrs my treated breast is far more sensitive(and sore at times) than the other one.The past few days it’s been really ‘tender’,but give it another day or two and it’ll get back to ‘normal’. I don’t think the effects of radiotherapy ever really leave us though.
