Painful seroma but no infection- anyone else in same boat?

I had my implants removed after they came through my skin last month, now the fluid got bad and made a tiny hole and I am dripping constantly, I told my doctor and he said it’s better to be out, then in, and it will heal once the fluid Subsides. Does anyone know how long this could take? I am starting to get so aggravated. It’s not infected or anything. It’s just so annoying. Thank you.

Sorry you are having such a miserable time. I can understand better out than in but also appreciate you don’t want an infect so maybe worth getting second opinion from someone else in the clinic perhaps?

Thanks I appreciate:) I will ask my nurse friend what she thinks

So sorry to hear that - I had a bad seroma after my lumpectomy and slnb. The breast cancer nurse said they would not drain it and put me on a cocktail of different painkillers at different times of day, mixing up paracetamol, ibuprofen and paracetamol and codeine. In addition she advised me to put a damp tea towel in the freezer and when it is really painful put it over my breast - it numbs it for about an hour but is a blessed relief if it’s really sore. Took nearly 4 weeks to be absorbed but very painful fair at least 2 weeks of those. I e now been diagnosed - 9 months on, with lymphoedema in the breast itself. It does resolve but it’s painful at the time.

How’s your seroma now you’ve had it drained, hope it’s all settled down now

Ugh well wound infected and seroma keeps leaking through it so now have a wound drain. Hoping will help! How are you? Xx

Hi newbie1

Thankfully mine seems to be okay, it goes up a little bit during the day and then reduces overnight. Scar is healing well but I’m a stressed mess waiting for results next week

Sending hugs
