painfull feet

Hi to all

Havnt posted in a while but i wonder if there is anyone out who has the same problem as me.

Had 4 fec and am now on my 4th of 8 tax. I have one dose a week and the pain in my feet is very bad. I have now feeling in my toes and it hurts to walk. I explained this to my onc. but becuase i am doing a trial (i live in Spain) they dont have any advice on how to relieve the pain. I have been taking Ibuprofen but it doesnt seem to make any difference. Is there anyone out there with any advice.

Thanks
Lynne

Hi Lynne

I have only had 1 tax - and within a week of having it I couldn’t put either foot on the floor, it was so painful. Could just about walk on my toes, but then lost the feeling in them too. My skin has noe peeled off my feet, though I can walk now. This, coupled with several other severe side effects (neutropenic sepsis and itching skin, severe diarrhea, loss of feeling in hands - you name it lol) has prompted my Onc to stop my treatment. Health board protocols here (I’m in Scotland) dictate that the symptoms I presented with would get increasingly worse if continued and leave me with permanent disablement to my feet & hands.

I couldn’t find anything that would ease the pain in my feet, so can’t help on that score I’m afraid.

I hope you find something to help you

take care

hi Lynn,
I had 4 tax after 4 EC and had diclofenec its an anti infammatory, a bit like ibuprofen but stronger, which seemed to help with aches and joint pains etc, I had abit of numbness in hands and toes but not too much, Hope you find something to help soon,

Sorry you have had to stop Tax Margaret, but they would carry on if they felt it would be ok, they obviously dont want to risk it after first ones side effects.
Take care both of you

Hi Dawn & margaret

Thanks both for your reply. Sorry to hear Margaret that you wernt able to continue with your treatment. Im not able Dawn to take diclofenec as i had it after amy Hystorectomy and it made me very ill so i will just have to grit my teeth and get on with it i think. I ony have 3 more sessions to go so hopefully it wont get any worse. Now having trouble with my veins it seems they are all becoming to hard to insert the needle. Finally got a needle in after 4 goes it was incredible painfull so not looking forward to next week.

Thanks again

Lynne
