Angela, Hi and welcome. We all understand your anxiety over sde-effects. Ita a while since i was on cape and i cant remember my dose but i think i took 3 big and 1 small tablet twice a day. I was very tired and had peripheral neuropathy and black toenails but at least i kept my hair!!..that was a big thing for me having lost it twice before (and am facing the prospect again) Overall, i did find the cape do-able but just had to pace myself…listen to your body and rest whenever you need to…accept any help offered (which i always find diffficult bt as time went on my friends were doing my cleaning, my sister the ironing etc). There are many times you will feel low but its quite normal. I have learned the hard way not to keep things bottled up but i do still try to do it alone and thats not good. Better to have a rant rave or cry and if you have no one with who you feel will understand, use us. We have all been there. Keep persevering and keep in touch. Lots of hgs. xx

Hi Angela, I think you are a few weeks ahead of me with cap, I have just finished my first 2 weeks of tablets and am due to see my onc on the 15th for the next course.  I have found it very easy compared to the chemo i had with my primary in 2004.  After about 4 or 5 days I noticed a big improvement in the size of my enlarged lymph nodes and found that my breathing had improved and that that i was able to do things that i had been unable to do in recent weeks, this I found a real encouragement that the chemo is working.  However the last few days I have been hit by fatigue and am struggling to do anything.  Apart from that my only side effects have been a feeling of nausea, even though i have taken my anti sickness tablets and tingling hands and feet, which i suffered from the first time and still have num ends of fingers and toes.

Hopefully things will go well with you on your second course of treatment and you won’t find the side es too bad.

Hugs Sandra  ?
