Path results - can anyone explain please

I got my path results confirmed yesterday, here they are - can anyone explain, especially the numbers please:

9mm grade 1 IDC (tubular type) with no nuclear grade DCIS of solid and cribriform type. All margins 5mm. 0/2 lymph nodes positive. NPI 2.2 PT1 NO MX. ER 8/8 HER 2 negative. Does this mean they took two lymph nodes, I thought they had only taken 1. I have also got planning app for my rads - 16th Aug., Yeh - feels like I am getting nearer the end of my journey

9mm Size

grade 1 slow growing

IDC (tubular type) Invasive Ductal Carcinoma

with no nuclear grade DCIS of solid and cribriform type. Not sure what this is, but seems there’s a difference between tubular type and cribiform type

All margins 5mm. I imagine this means they took margins to 5mm, clear.

0/2 lymph nodes positive. Lymph nodes clear

NPI 2.2 PT1 NO MX. Don’t know

Does this mean they took two lymph nodes It would appear so.

Having said that, I am not a professional, just going by what I have gleaned, as mine is still to come.  I would say that seems to be pretty good news. (In the whole scheme of things.)

Sounds like a very positive outcome !!! you can ask these questions in the ask the nurses section for a medical explanation .

I didnt get an in depth path report, never really thought about it, I was given a sheet with the information on:

17mm

tubular

grade 1

c2 lymph nodes they removed were clear as well.

I am also ER positive but dont know how much.

I know they said tubular was a rare cancer but totally treatable and that never changed following my op.

How many sessions are you having?  Yep you really are getting nearer the end of your journey

Hi Bouskllg, it’s good you got your path results . I had mine verbally, and  consultant explained everything to me. I think it’s very confusing if you have just been presented with results and neither your consultant, nor your BC have gone over it with you. I think you should phone up and ask for a clear explanation. I am familiar with some terminology, but not all. There is an information leaflet on this site called Understanding your Path Results. It is a very good guide, simple and straightforward. I’m sure you would find it very useful.

Perhaps this would be better posted on the ask the nurses section? I would hate to misinterpret your info!
