Periods
Periods Bl**dy periods !! (pardon the pun)
Now, I thought once we start chemo, these damned things are supposed to stop ?
I was due on a week last Thursday. The weekend before, I had a heavy period lasting 24 hours, which then just disappeared. Thursday my period arrived as per usual - and is STILL HERE 9 DAYS LATER !!!
Its really heavy and is showing no signs of going away.
My Oncologist said not to worry, and in the grand scheme of things, I know its not the end of the world, but I’ve had enough of it now.
I’ve just had my third chemo, and wondered if anyone else has experienced what I’m going through ? I’m 42, have had my children, don’t want anymore, and I certainly DON’T WANT ANY MORE PERIODS !!!
Please tell me they stop !!
By the way, apart from this, I’m having a “good” day today so would like to send cyber hugs and lots of love to you all ladies !!

You are not alone Hi Julie,
I am same age as you (43 next Sunday). I am having more frequent periods as well. I am on FEC and have just had my fourth this week.
My periods are irregular and seem to be getting them every couple of weeks and sometimes, light bleeding in between.
It is very annoying. I too thought that they would stop, certainly didn’t expect this to happen. I have two children 17 and 14 and I certainly don’t want anymore periods.
We’ll just have to hope that they do eventually stop, II will be having tamoxifen, so I suppose that will finish them off. I am getting hot flushes though. Its all a bit of a B****er!!!
Glad your feeling good though. I find that each chemo gets harder and takes me longer to recover, so still tired and a bit vague today. Next week I should be much better.
Love to you

Hi, I’m 48 and finished chemo in Jan this year. My periods continued as normal until after my 4th chemo. No more since. I started tamoxifen in February.
